I went to New Hampshire in the summer of 1990 through BUNAC (the British North America Club) which allowed me to live and work in the USA. I was working in Canobie Lake Park, a large amusement park in the countryside.
I had an interesting time, even though the work was boring and badly paid. I used to spend up to 10 hours a day, six days a week operating various rides. Hour after hour letting the guests on, pushing a button, and then letting them off again. The fun started in the evenings, though as we were a big group of Brits living in houses around the park and we used to throw huge parties every night.I worked there for two months and then spent a month flying around the USA having a wonderful time.
