| Biography Katie Holmes started her acting career in theatre productions in high school, but diddnt think that she had a shot at stardom as she lived in the mid west. Fait intervened when she went to a national modelling and talent convection in New York City, where she met a talent manager who encouraged her to go to a Los Angeles for telivisions pilots seasons. On her very last professional audition, Holmes dazzled the casting director for the acclaimed feature film "the ice storm". when the next pilot season came up during her senior year of high School, Katie decided not to go to Los Angeles, changing her mind to perform in her Schools Production instead. when the time came for Katie to audition for Dawsons Creek, she sent in a video tape of Toledo, and when the call back conflicted with the plays opening night, she declained rather than let down her classmates.fourtunately, the producers were able to reschedule her audition and she landed the series regular role of Joey Potter. Since landing the role of Joey on Dawsons Creek, Katie has filmed a number of different movies. The first was "Disturbing behaviour", as well as "go" and "Teaching mrs. Tingle. She has also appeared in movie like "Wonder Boys" alond side Michale Douglas and Robert Downey jr and "The Gift " starring Keanu Reeves. |
