Punishment is determined and carried out by the Fairchild Headmaster according to well-established ritual. The Fairchild Young Women’s Academy makes extensive use of corporal punishment. Our girls are spanked hard on their bare bottoms regularly. Other appropriate forms of punishment are administered at the Headmaster’s discretion. All punishments are designed to teach our girls to learn to be proper young women.

Punishments are assigned by a Punishment Slip being given to the offending girl by a staff member. Each girl receiving a Punishment Slip brings it to the Headmaster’s office at 5pm. Offending girls wait outside the Headmaster’s office until called in to receive their punishment.

Each rule infraction has a designated degree of severity. The degree of the corresponding corporal punishment depends both on:

• The degree of the severity of the violation
• The girl’s year/age
• The girl’s past record of violations

All corporal punishments include an initial lecture while the naughty girl’s bottom is being spanked over the Headmaster’s knee. The lecture and spanking is followed by a silent period in which the girl being punished assumes a position as directed by the Headmaster so that her bottom may receive the designated number of punishment swats with the Headmaster’s paddle. Swats may be administered with the girl over a desk, standing, or laying on the Fairchild Paddling Bench. The naughty girl is expected to remain in position during her well-deserved punishment and take it stochically (see Rule 33). Failure to do so causes the punishment to start over.

After the punishment swats, the girl must stand in “remorse time” where she is expected to reflect on her bad behavior and the lesson that she was just taught. Remorse time is always endured with the offending girl’s naughty bottom on display and with her standing still in a position as directed by the Headmaster. Breaking position results in immediate further punishment. Following remorse time, the Headmaster will instruct the punished girl to repeat the lesson that she has learned. Fairchild girls are expected to be able to repeat their lessons in detail. Lines may be assigned to ensure that the girl remembers her lesson. A Fairchild girl is expected to concentrate on her lines and lesson, even over the distraction of other girls getting punished in the Headmaster’s office.

While in the Headmaster’s office a girl is never to touch her bottom (blocking, rubbing, etc). A naughty girl’s bottom deserves to be punished - by touching it during or after her punishment, a Fairchild girl compromises her lesson.

After being dealt with, the girl is sent directly to bed without going to dinner. When dismissed after punishment, a Fairchild girl is to respectfully thank the Headmaster for teaching her to be a better girl.
