PART 1c "Uh..." Kevin said slowly looking back up at Nick who smiled his ears flattening against his head which made him stare. "And comes the denial!" Nick chirped which Kevin didn't hear as he started shaking his head. "No... no way... this isn't possible!" He said staring at Nick and looking like he was gonna turn and crawl away. "There is no way this is possible! There is no way you are a damn cat and that Brian is a bunny!" "He's a rabbit." Nick corrected making Kevin pause and glare at him. "Whatever! My point is I did not see what I thought I just saw! You didn't disappear... that is not possible! I think I've lost my mind!" Kevin suddenly groaned covering his face with his hands. Hey... maybe that was another explanation. It had finally happened, stardom had finally taken its toll! He had been the first one to crack under the pressure and lose it and now he was stuck in never never land! Wonderland... whatever, like it matter at this point if he was crazy! Sighing Kevin slowly lowered his hands just past his eyes so they opened and looked around warily as Nick clapped his hands again drawing his attention. "Well well my lost friend! It is quite possible you see! You are here there for it is possible now isn't it!" Nick declared grinning still as if his face were frozen that way. Kevin looked at him with a miserable expression like he didn't want an answer to his next question. "Wonderland huh?" Nick nodded giggling. "Wonderland." He agreed/confirmed. "Oh god!" Kevin moaned falling backwards into the flowers making more clouds rise. Nick grinned more and began humming and fading once more, as he did his voice slipped into the air again becoming slightly louder and echoing in the undertone. Kevin lay on the ground with all the flowers around his body as he stared up at the towering leaves of the trees his mind in a blank. "Hmmm hummmmm hmmmmmmm, you know lost friend..." Nick's voice hummed drifting down from his original perch heading slowly towards the ground where Kevin was laying with a glazed over expression on his face. "Your quite misplaced in a place like this, considering the real place you should be in! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?" Nick declared his grin evident in his echoing voice as it drifted towards the ground bouncing slowly around Kevin who didn't even bother looking. "Hmmmm huh hmmmmm hummmmmm hmmmmmm... maybe you should quite wondering about things that are as they are here! Deny deny deny! Things will stay as they are as they stay the way they are where you come from!" Kevin had to think that over twice before he got what he meant, the voice drifted behind the top of Kevin's head for a moment before bouncing away slightly circling around to the other side of a tree right behind him. "Maybe my lost friend, you shouldn't take time to ponder about the wondrous things here that will still always be despite what you believe and think. Maybe you should instead muse..." Nick trailed off and suddenly leaned out solid and whole from behind the tree so only the upper half of his body came around, he leaned over so his grinning face hovered a foot above Kevin's face who blinked. "About how you're going to get home hmmmmmmmm?" He purred out grinning. Kevin blinked staring at Nick's face who stared back smiling. "Home?" Kevin echoed as if he didn't get it. It took a second before the word registered and The Cheshire Cat watched the transformation take place on Kevin's face as it suddenly became clear what he meant. "HOME!" Kevin yelped and bolted upright suddenly. If Nick didn't have the cat skills he did Kevin would have whacked him head on, he jumped back a little as Kevin sat up horrified. "Oh god! How far away am I!?" He asked turning to look back at Nick frantically, flower petals stuck in his hair. "Mmmm," Nick purred as he pretended to think tapping a claw on the root of the tree and lounged against it. "Far." He said smiling. "HOW FAR!?" Kevin snarled which hardly intimidated Nick. "Why very far!" Nick exclaimed. "Wonderland is very far away from *everything *!" He said gleefully. Oh this was so freaking typical! Kevin breathed hard trying to restrain himself from killing the obnoxious Cat Nick who was obviously getting a kick at Kevin's expense. "How can I get back!?" He demanded. "The same way you came in!" Nick said rolling onto his back on the thick tree root yawning. Kevin looked exasperated again. "HOW THE HELL DID I GET IN IN THE FIRST PLACE!?" Nick grinned placing a hand under his head and waved his finger in circles at Kevin as if scolding him. "You came in the only way that someone like you *can * come in! And in order to find that out you have to go that way!" Nick said lazily pointing to the path where Brian had ran off screaming. The White Rabbit... erm...yeah. Kevin turned to look down the path then back down to Nick and pointed himself at it. "I go down that way I get out of here?" He asked confused but hopeful. "Nope!" Kevin's jaw fell open and he stared at Nick in disbelief. "*Then why the hell did you say that*!?" He screeched. "Tisk... I didn't say that would lead you out of here! I told you not one minute before ago that your far far away from everything! Including the exit and entrance to here!" Nick chuckled looking upward as Kevin puffed up annoyed. "Well... technically not *here * since you're far away from that exit and entrance! But the exit and entrance to Wonderland!" He said cheerfully. Kevin rolled his eyes, as Nick seemed to think for a moment before closing his eyes and huffing making a dismissive gesture. "Mmm, anyhow! I said that you have to go that way in order to find it! Not that it would take you to it!" Nick referred to the path. "If it were as easy as that then you would have seen me a looong time ago where you were!" He giggled. "I have seen you at where I was! Minus annoying as hell cryptic attitude and cat ears and tail!" Kevin snapped making Nick pout a little at that. Kevin sighed rubbing his temples as Nick idly hummed to himself, after a moment something occurred to Kevin and his head shot up. "Wait a goddamn second! What is *your * deal!?" He demanded. Nick opened his eyes his ears twitching in surprise as he looked up at a very irate Kevin. "My deal?" He echoed innocently. "I told you! I'm The Cheshire Cat! I know everything!" "Yeah I got that part! If you're not Nick-" Which Kevin was still doubting but now was not to sure, "Then why do you look like him!?" Nick mused for a moment before shrugging losing interest again. "Silly question! Why do you look the way you do? Why does this Nick you know look the way he does? Or why does a bird have two legs when one would suite it just fine since all it does it hop and land? I should hardly know and I hardly question it! I am what I am!" And that's all that I am, Kevin finished the quote in his head rolling his eyes again. "I thought you were the mighty Cheshire Cat who knew all." Kevin snipped rudely and didn't care. "You didn't answer my question furball! Why do you look and sound like Nick and why does Brian look like a bunny?" "White Rabbit." "WHATEVER!" Nick shrugged again. "Because!" He grinned. "Because why?" "That's just it, because." "That's not an answer!" "Yes it is!" Nick laughed stilling lying on his back as he threw his arms out dramatically. "This is Wonderland lost friend! Things do not make sense here! Everything is mad mad mad!" Nick yelped out happily rolling suddenly onto all fours onto the flowers grinning. "Why is everything mad?" Why am I asking stupid questions? Kevin wondered. Nick cackled. "What's the fun in being sane!?" Who could argue with that? Nick wasn't finished though as he crawled forward slowly, Kevin watching annoyed as he came closer a little. "Nothing here makes sense! Mad things do not make sense now do they?" Nick's smile suddenly turned oily and sly as if he knew something Kevin didn't. Which... actually was pretty much true. "You're going to see a lot of wild things here lost friend!" Nick purred dangerously, giving Kevin a *very valid warning*. "Wondrously wild and fantastic things! Remember! Nothing is done normally here! Not once not never! You'll see familure faces which really aren't familure at all! At least not here! No one is who you think they are just because they look like someone you know! You know?" "I guess." Nick's smile slipped back to the normal cheerful innocent one. "Good! I have a feeling that your going to have the experience of a life time here!" Kevin didn't doubt the severity of that at all! Nick yawned and suddenly fell over, Kevin jumped as Nick fell gracefully onto his side into the flowers lying there but propped up a little on his elbows. "Remember lost friend! You're quite a ways away from where you need to be! I leave you with this parting advice!" Nick winked. "Don't rush through this place." He sang out just begging for Kevin to ask him what that meant. "Hey!" Kevin started when he noticed that Nick was fading again. becoming a ghost once more, and this time not even his bow tie was staying solid, he had the feeling Nick was really leaving this time. "W-w-wait a sec! Don't go!" Kevin yelped as Nick hummed smiling and disappearing. "Oh don't worry... I'm never far! I can't *wait * to see how *this * turns out!" Nick giggled, his ears twitched and his tail continued to swish as he completely faded out of sight humming. His voice was in the air again but even though it started out loud it began to fade. Kevin panicked and lunged as if tackling him would stop him. "Ak!" He gagged landing right where Nick had been and sending up a mushroom cloud of flower petals into his face. He splashed around a moment flustered as the floral scent assaulted his sense of smell. Nick's laugh faded away in the air as Kevin sat up shocked looking around wildly. "Don't worry! There aren't to many scary things around here!" "OH THAT FILLS ME WITH LOADS OF CONFIDENCE!" Kevin snarled viciously just making Nick laugh even more. "Hmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm," Nick's hum faded away even more which just made Kevin panic even more. As annoying as Cat Nick was he was the only familure face he had seen so far in this whacked out situation. "Have fun!... Have fun!... Have fun!... Have fun!" The Cheshire Cat's parting words echoed gleefully, each echo fading even more then the last till finally... Silence. Utter total silence. Kevin sat there on his hands and knees and looked around after a minute passed and Cat Nick didn't reappear or say anything more. Wasn't just that either... Kevin felt alone. Not devastating and hopelessly alone just... no one around anymore. There presence gone. Totally... gone. Shit. Oh shit. Oh shit oh shit oh shit OH SHIT! Kevin panicked falling onto his rear and looking around wildly. "Chuh!" He gasped looking around. Okay... this was okay... this was fine! Really! He could do this! All he had to do was go down the damn path right? It would take him outta here! He worried for a moment about the others worrying about him being gone. Only for a moment though... he should probably being worrying about *himself * more then the others at this moment. He sat there in silence for a few minutes trying to get his bearings... he was also hoping on some level Nick... or The Cheshire Cat or whatever the hell he wanted to be called would come back. At this point he'd be willing to call Nick the King Of England if it'd get him to return. Two more minutes passed as Kevin shifted uncomfortably not noticing that even though he had sat and jumped all over the flowers they had magically popped back up unharmed. "Okay." Kevin said out loud slowly, licking his lips anxiously as he looked around nervously. "Okay! The path... that should be easy. Just... go down the path and I'll be outta here. Yeah. Lickity split." Easier said then done... but what the hell was he gonna do? Frowning Kevin sighed and climbed to his feet wincing. Once standing he brushed the petals off of himself and looked around. "Down the path... down the path and I'm outta here. Okay... I can do that." Kevin nodded firmly to convince himself of that. "I can do that." Taking a deep breath he stumbled onto the path forming a plan. After a moment of looking both ways he turned and went the opposite way of where Nick had pointed. He had to get some stuff first. As he walked away and broke into a quick run, from above The Cheshire Cat laid across a tree limb high up watching him go, his tail flipped back and forth as he grinned. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ After walking back to where he had woken up in the first place, Kevin retrieved his suitcase and left the silver tray that had been on top of it in the flowers. He drank all the water though since he was dying of thirst and would probably need it. Disregarding the glass also into the flowered ground after finishing it Kevin hauled his suitcase onto the dirt path and muttering furiously dragged it along with him. Apparently the suitcase had a lot of stuff in it since it was so heavy. Felt like hauling a stack of bricks, and since it wasn't one of his pulling cases he had to carry it. Delightful. "I can't believe this crap son of a bitch I swear to god..." Kevin was muttering quite pissed off as he dragged his suitcase into the forest. He wondered who had packed it because he was for damn sure he hadn't. And it felt like it had been packed for the purpose of a long stay. Well Kevin didn't have any intention of staying for even and *hour * longer then he had to! Stomping on he continued his trek deeper into the forest, it had taken a half an hour to get back to where he had ran into Ni... er, The Cheshire Cat. When he reached where he had originally ran into him he stopped for a moment and looked around, his boots made the gravel beneath them crack and grind into the ground as he turned. "Nick?" He called out loudly looking back and forth and even up towards the trees. All he got back was the rustling of the leaves above in response. He stood there for a moment before sighing and looking down the path leading deeper into the forest. He groaned for a moment before forcing himself to start walking that way. God he hoped that that town or city or something was close by despite what Nick had said. As he walked Kevin considered his situation. Wonderland... Cat Nick and Bunny Brian... he had to have snapped! That was the only thing he could think of! He had cracked under all the pressure he and the guys had been under and had lost his mind. He must have wandered off and was still delusional or something. But he wasn't to content with that explanation... he didn't *feel * crazy. Then again what was it they said? The more crazy you were the more you denied it? Sighing Kevin walked onward. Well, if I'm nuts I mine as well find a phone and call someone to confirm it and get me the hell outta here and get me some help, he thought wirily. If he was crazy at least he chose a nice spot to wander off to he observed idly shifting his eyes to look around at all the trees that packed around the path and the ground made of flowers. Despite all the floral there was only a light but pleasant scent. Kind of like plamarias. After about an hour of walking Kevin was still cursing himself and now his arms which were growing tired from carrying around the heavy suitcase. But he wasn't about to leave his stuff behind no matter how heavy. Trudging forward Kevin' head lulled back and he groaned closing his eyes but didn't stop walking. "Damn it!" He groaned. His headache had lessened somewhat but was still there and bothering him. Sighing he opened his eyes and looked as his suitcase clutched in his hand. Maybe he packed some aspirin... Swinging the case around Kevin tried to pull it up as he walked on fumbling with the front. He was so distracted by the case he almost missed the sign till he was right at it. Stopping and blinking in surprise, Kevin stared ahead a few feet at a piece of wood nailed to a tree, hugging his suitcase to himself Kevin walked forward and squinted reading the message carved into the simple piece of torn wood. [BEWARE OF FARIES!] "Beware of WHAT!?" Kevin asked out load in complete disbelief, he blinked but the message remained the same. "Fairies!? What are you kidding me!?" He continued to talk out load, his arms wrapped around his suitcase as he hugged it to his chest leaning forward staring. Was this sign some kind of joke or something? As Kevin was still trying to figure out if the sign was a legimate warning something was coming down the opposite way of the path Kevin was heading down. It walked slowly and casually lulling from side to side as it stepped on each booted foot. Tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... Kevin frowned still scrutinizing the sign. Tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... He blinked when he heard something... since it was quite in the forest any other sound that Kevin didn't make he could basically here. Tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... tick tick... That distracted him back away from the odd sign, looking around Kevin finally looked forward and leaned to the side a little to see past the sign slowly not to sure if he wanted to know what was making the noise. When he did spot it his jaw fell open and the case slipped out of his arms and hit the ground with a "thud!" Walking towards him... was a clock. That's right... a *clock *. An alarm clock was *walking * down the path towards Kevin happily. It looked like the one Brian had been waving around... well, not *that * one per say, but the same style and a little bigger. Bunny Brian's alarm clock hadn't been *alive *. This one apparently was. It had two blue boots at the bottom with a gold chain attached to a loop at the top as it dragged on the ground slightly and was walking down the path as if this was an everyday thing. Maybe in Wonderland it was but Kevin couldn't believe his eyes as his jaw fell open and he stared at it. The clicking sound was of its ticking. "Holy cow." Kevin gaped at the walking clock as it happily came closer. "You going to see a lot of wild things around here lost friend!" Nick's words came back to him as the walking clock came closer. "Wondrously wild and fantastic things!" And one of em was walking towards Kevin right now, staring at it he watched as it came closer ticking away. "Uh..." Was all he could say as it walked right in front of Kevin and didn't stop, he watched frozen looking down as the clock just kept walking until it bumped into him and hopped back a little. It seemed to stare at Kevin's shins for a moment ( Which he guessed was the only thing that was eye level if it had eyes. He hadn't seen if it did. ) before it tilted back its entire clock body to look up. Kevin found himself staring down into a pair of cartoonish wide big eyes, which blinked. Both just stared at one another, after a few moments Kevin leaned down looking at it in awe. "Wow!" He breathed... it was kinda cool and fascinating in a way. The clock stared at Kevin and blinked innocently probably wondering about him as well. Kevin couldn't help but reach down and poke it slightly on its face. Since it had a glass panel over its face it didn't harm it, it just blinked when he did it. Well... if he was crazy and this was a delusion it was... kinda a cool one. Unable to resist Kevin reached down and picked the clock up as he stood up straight forgetting about his fallen suitcase. "Hey... your kinda neat. What are you? Just a walking clock?" Kevin asked it. It blinked again and shook its tiny boots as Kevin shook it a little trying to figure out how it worked. Turning it upside down, not seeing its eyes widen at that Kevin looked it over turning it this way and that. All it had was eyes on... what he was *assuming * was the face. It didn't have a mouth. Kinda reminded him of that talking clock from "Beauty And The Beast". Turning it back around it blinking rapidly in surprise Kevin carefully looked at its front as it crossed its eyes to see him he leaned in so close. According to the dial on its face it was three o'clock. He wasn't sure if that was the actual time here but that's what it said. It just stared at Kevin as he looked at it. He discovered a tiny latch on the side that would open the glass panel, lifting it out of the lock Kevin raised his eyebrows and pulled the glass away, the clock's eyes followed it to the side before blinking and looking back at Kevin. "Wow... weird." He muttered poking lightly at the dial arrows. Its eyes narrowed in annoyance, which its annoyer didn't notice. Kevin didn't know what possessed him to do what he did next... he later wrapped it up to just being to damn curious. Poking at the hour hand Kevin pushed the arrow arm back. The clock blinked as Kevin changed the time from three o'clock rewinding it back, the minute hand racing after the hour one. The clock suddenly stopped looking annoyed and blinked innocently looking back at Kevin who didn't notice something as he turned the dial. He didn't notice himself shrinking. Kevin stopped turning the dial when it reached one fifteen. "Hmm." He said apparently satisfied with doing that... that's when he noticed something. His cloths were bigger and baggier... as a matter of fact they just seemed to hang on him. Surprised Kevin looked down at himself lifting the clock higher to see. "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Kevin's now high squeaky thirteen-year-old voice screeched out, looking at himself wildly and slightly horrified he suddenly and frantically turned the surprised clock around so Kevin could look at himself in its shinny back. "HOLY SHIT!" Kevin said shrilly. "I'M THIRTEEN!" BACK NEXT |
