Scotland & Wales

Only one offering so far and a slightly disappointing one really when you consider that this is the land of haggis, neaps and tatties and square sausage. However if you want a real slice of traditional Scottish Student Hockeye Cuisine this is the place to go: Recommended by a Mr. D. Ling a well known bon vivant and gourmet

Student canteen at Napier University Edinburgh  - Craiglockhart campus

Open Mon-Fri from 12:00 - 14:30 (lunch only) and serve a selection of hot and cold meals. You can choose from a variety of pies and everything which can conceivably be deep fried -(Mars bars included). The Scots have the worst record in the world for heart disease and if you could have a butchers at the crap these guys dish up you will understand exactly why. There is no salad bar so veggies instead why not feast yourself on a plate of fried chips - alias French fries to any septic tanks out there - a bargain at only 105p a plate - the portions are not left wanting though and plate is positively brimming with chips (should one or two fall on the ground the old woman that serves will kindly bend over and pick it up depositing again on your plate no gloves are necessary). Alas there is no table service and again, in the interests of hygiene customers must put their own tray away - if you absent mindedly forget you will be reprimanded the day after - close circuit t.v. is in operation- if you are a persistent offender action will be taken and you will be charged with cleaning the numerous deep fat fryers.

NB - Friday's chips are always browner as the oil is only changed once a week at weekends.

Enjoy your meal
