Newsgroups are the great unsung source of much of the porn you see at web sites. Essentially they are groups of people with similar interests who exchange messages. The groups you will be intrested in exchange mostly pix.

There is a one-stop web site that will tell you more about newsgroups than you really wanted to know.

For some folks accessing the msgs in the newsgroups isn't worth the time required. However, there are programs that make the work much easier, which I'll mention later.

How do you access the newsgroups, anyway? Your SP (service provider) probably has a collection of them that you can see with your web browser, either Netscape or Explorer. Rules for newsgroups are slightly different than those for regular web sites and you may not find all of those listed in Liszt, above.

Here is a pretty good test to see if you can see the gay newsgroups. Go to this site, which contains a comprehensive list of gay newsgroups. While failure to get to the newsgroup doesn't prove much, if you are taken to the list of groups your SP carries, note how you got there.

Here is a Netscape experiment to see if you have access to them now. If you can't reach them, the home page for your SP will tell you how to do it. Most SPs are not like the one I found in Memphis, where you had to send a picture and sign a waiver that you would not hold them accountable if the newsgroups made you crazy and run afoul of the law.
 
 
 

1. In the Netscape browser click on the word Communicator. 2. In the drop-down menu that appears click on the word Newsgroups.
3. At the bottom of the tree you should see probably the name of your SP (Service Provider), preceeded by the word news. All SPs don't follow this convention, but if you see nothing, you can stop here and contact your SP to set it up.
4. Right-click on this news entry and select Subscribe to Newsgroups...

5. The very first time you do this it will take a very long time to download all the names. Just be patient.

6. Click on the Search tab, enter words like gay, cock, fuck, etc. and see what you can find.
