Welcome to the all new Stepstersuk look. This site is brought to you by a devoted Steps fan. Steps were the best and allways will be. They hit the pop world back in 1997 with their first single, 5678. It was a line dancing track, and wasnt meant to hit off like it did. That entered the chart at number 14. Next they released a second single, which was a bannanarama hit caled 'Last Thing On My Mind'. They then released 'One For Sorrow', and an album called 'Step One' which was followed by the single 'Heartbeat', which was double a side with 'Tragedy' the classic from the bee gees, this got them their first ever number 1. Next they released 'Better Best Forgotten' which went in at number 5. Then they decided to release loads of new songs not on their first album, which were 'Loves Gotta Hold On My Heart', and 'After The Love Has Gone', which was followed by another album called 'Steptacular' wich went to number 1 and a single called 'Say You'll Mine' being a double a side with the Kylie Minogue classic 'Better The Devil You Know'. Steps then went on to release 'Deeper Shade Of Blue' and When I Said Goodbye/Summer Of Love. They then released a song called 'Stomp' which got them their second number 1, followed by another album called 'Buzz' and the singles 'It's The Way You Make Me Feel' and 'Here & Now' being a double a side with 'You'll Be Sorry'. They then went on t release a classic Diana Ross piece called 'Chain Reaction' and thats when it all happened all the 'Gold:- Greatest Hits' stuff came out, including the book, video and dvd. Then their was the Gold Tour:- Greatest Hits album. Which went on to be number 1, and after being knocked off the top spot climbed back to number 1 again. They also had a Gold Tour, which was the best of the 5 tours they did. Also while this was happening they released, what was not known at the time, their last ever single as a group, it was called 'Words Are Not Enough' and it was another double a side with 'I Know Him So Well' by Abba. 'Words Are Not Enough' was the biggest and most expensive video to film, and Steps were only in the first few seconds cos' it was actually a cartoon. Little did the fans know it would be Steps last. Then on December 26th 2001, it was official announced at 4.35pm on BBC that Steps had split, and were to go their seperate ways. It was a tragic day for the fans, and as I myself was in tears, everyone on their official msg board was going mad, and were deeply traumatised. I wason when the news broke out, and it was like mayhem. And now all thats left is the memories of five excellent years of the Best British Pop Group STEPS. Oh and they were 2nd in the best sellling band, the beatles came first. They also won many awards. Including a Brit Award. |
