Shinai

Top of Page

The sticks we weild are called Shinai. Made of bambo slats fitted togethe and bound with leather they are intended for Kendo practice. Click here for a great description and maintainance page.

Nagis/Polearms

Top of Page

Several of our fighters have split the slats of their shinai and mounted them on poles turning them into Nagis. These are legal as long as they have sufficient padding at the tip and at the end of the pole. The have to be tested and approved by one of our senior veterans before they can be used on the field.

Blunt Weapons/Axes

Top of Page

Blunt weapons and axes can and have been constructed from almost any material imaginable. Our guidelines for these are similar to those of the Nagi in that you cannot make them out of any material that may cause severe injury to another warrior. The advantage of these type of weapons is that gauntlet hits count as regular shots when you use them.

Shields

Top of Page

A few of our people have made shields to help them on the filed. These are allowed as long as the edges are padded enough to allow them not to scar other peoples weapons.

Helms

Top of Page

You may wear a helm if you wish. Our guidelines for these are lax, but make sure that it has sufficient padding to shield your head from any hit you may take on the field because if you wear one head shots become a legal target on you.
