Fraser Valley – Near Kelowna

Camping:Pennask Lake

The Jones Lake access road is located off of the ByPass route from Merritt to Kelowna. It’s about 4.5hours from Vancouver.

There are no big mountains in this one, but we were at a high plateau. Awesome place to go!

We went during the Civic Holiday weekend of 2003 during the wildfires. Merritt just reported a large fire the week before and Kelowna hadn't been hit yet. We had beat the backcountry ban by a couple weeks and although we couldn’t have a fire, we still had a great (and dusty) time.

Caught my first BC freshwater trout and fried that bugger up! Been a long time since I’ve cleaned my own fish…didn’t do too bad!

Went with a good crew too! Thanks Justin, Mandy, Matt, Laurel, Natalie, Robyn and of course Nigel and Abbey (the two tots)!
