Annajue Le Fan
Vleyborian Priestess, wife of the deceased Mayor of Norham Gellan Le Fan.
Ran through the boundary to heal a wounded adventurer. Has not been seen
since.
Dark Elves
Until 994 little was heard of the elves of Dark wood. They made occasional
attacks on villages near to their wood, but took far fewer lives than disease
or hunger did. This all changed when the Witchfinder Kellibor Drackhart
dismissed an imp which turned out to be the familiar of the Elven King's
daughter. This caused a fight in which elven blood was spilt. Massive retribution
followed, with the elves demanding a duel with the Witchfinder. The Eorl
was unable to arrange this, but offered to clear the Forbidden Wood and
to hand it over to the elves, in return for peace. This has been done,
and a treaty drawn up between the two races. Despite the unsolved attempted
murder of one dark elf ambassador, and the dissappearance of the other,
the new truce has held.
Adrennan
Dark Elf Ambassador. Survived an assassination attempt which took the life
of his assistant.
King Desenareth
Ruler of the Dark Elves. Known to be a master of the arts of demonology.
Princess
King Desenareth's daughter, also schooled in the arts of demonology. She
is often accompanied by her familiar which bears an unfortunate resemblance
to a large bipedal sheep.
Goblin Mage
Initially regarded as a harmless nuisance, this goblin has grown in power
over the years. He is now a powerful mage, and appears to be working with
the Hoods in some way.
Hamstrel Stourley
Eorl of the Blacklands.
Hoods
A group of thugs and murderers who are named after the black hoods and
facemasks that they wear. Until the arrival of the Eorl, their power was
unquestioned. They severely punished anyone caught stealing or killing
without good reason. Since the Eorl's introduction of Ithronian law, and
well equipped adventurers, their power has diminished. Their major claim
to fame is the assassination of Gellan le Fan, mayor of Norham.
Hubert
Known as 'Hubert the Healing Hermit' this solitary man provides healing
to those in need. He is VERY good at this, having healed people from multiple
wounds in a few seconds, as well as curing himself from a vampires bite.
Kassandra
Longstorian Devotee and adventurer. Travelled to the Blacklands and crossed
the Boundary in an attempt to rescue her friend Annajue Le Fan. Since then
she has sent letters out to some of her friends reporting on her progress,
although nothing has been heard of her for many years.
Kharachian Priest
Nobody will ever know the real name of the High Father of Kharach in Woodsgate.
As well as performing church duties he was the guardian of the Eorl's library.
He left his mark by committing suicide in front of the Eorl in the Stourley
Arms.
Lady Beech
The most well known local dryad. She rarely comes out of her tree, and
has never been seen further than a few paces from it. Beech likes strong
hardy males, particularly humans, and will often cause fights over who
should have the honour of staying in her tree.
Leprechaun
An annoying creature that likes to play games or set puzzles. If the puzzles
are solved he offers favours, if they can not be solved he curses people.
Can often be found at the Dryad's Tree or 'guarding' the Longstorian Shrine.
Longstorian Priest
This 'man' can often be found praying at the Longstorian Shrine. He appears
to have pointy ears, leading to speculation that he is not human. During
an attack on the Longstorian Shrine by Trisp, he allegedly turned into
a wolf and tore apart the attackers. Since these rumours started he has
been treated with even greater respect than other High Fathers.
Martyn Jenkins
Self proclaimed 'Arch Witch' Martyn fled through the Boundary after failing
to have the Witchfinder assassinated. He was driven to this after being
expelled from the mages guild for cowardice.
Matthew Oak
Retainer to Eorl Stourley, and a devotee of Longstor.
One armed begger
As he insists, this man is a begger. In no way should it be implied that
he sells information to anyone - the fact that he tells more stories after
large donations is purely coincidental.
Toleneous Stone
Adviser to Eorl Storley
Trisp
A declining tribe of foulspawn, the Trisp were once the most feared group
of foulspawn in the area. They are at war with the Seven Clans, as well
as the humans. They use force of arms, backed up by magick casting shamen
to defeat their foes. They will attack any that appear weaker than themselves,
but will often run if outnumbered.
Kraaag
Ex leader of the Trisp. He appeared to be a VERY tough orc. Lost both his
arms in a duel with Sir Sorely of the Griffin Order. Although captured
in this incident, he was released when most of his tribe threatened to
destroy Woodsgate. He has not been heard of since
Kraaag's Mate
An ineffective enchanter who was easily captured (and released) along with
her mate. It appears she is the brains of the operation.
The White Council
Followers of the Lady Vleybor, the Council are fanatically devoted, although
not part of Norham's "established" Church. They abhor violence and weapons
capable of causing permanent harm. They will heal, and provide shelter
for any who ask, and are therefore very rarely attacked. They live in a
small community near their shrine. No weapons are allowed near the shrine,
those that they find are confiscated or destroyed.
Whiteraven ap Redblade
A Crowan devotee and guard, he used to be Defender of the Faith of Crowa.
A few years ago Whiteraven 'went native' and left the adventuring community
to marry an orc.
Click Click
Archmage of Ithron
Raised by goblins, his real name is unpronounceable by most humans.
Click Click (as he quickly became known) left his tribe to join the adventuring
community early in 998. At the muster to repel the invaders that year he
fulfilled his ambition to become a mage. A year later he returned to Hadsfield
a Master mage, fiercely loyal to the guild. Few outside the guild know
exactly what happened during that fateful weekend, but Archmage Luis fled,
the physicians guild were summoned, and Click Click spent the most of the
weekend in recovery. Whatever transpired must have impressed the Undercouncil,
as they chose Click Click to replace Luis, despite there being more senior
mages eligible for the post.
Joryk Ramshorn
Ex Guild Protector Physician
Originally from the Blacklands, Joryk travelled Ithron, healing the
sick, and charging for it.
If it could be done Joryk's did it. Highlights included being excommunicated
from the church of Vleybor, visiting Sharda, invading a Barrowights tomb,
being un-excommunicated from the church of Vleybor, and visiting the Rosebed.
He was killed by the Hoods for being a thief, but if this was true
why didn't he see the trap that killed him?
Jack
Traldan Scout.
Jack is a High Father of the Lady Tralda. His most famous use of his
powers was when he attemted to cast a spell on one of the Dark Gods to
make Him 'Drop that Primate'.
Stephan Setanta
Guildsman Scout.
Stephan is the brother of So Setanta.
So Setanta
Master Physician
So used to be an adventurer, but retired to become Town Healer of Woodsgate.
He is still refered to (by those who do not need healing) by his nickname
'piggy', after telling a group of hungry orcs 'don't eat us, we taste like
pork'.
Sir Morgath
Knight Commander (deceased)
Sir Morgath was a Templar Knight who based himself in the Blacklands.
A week after being appointed Knight commander (and losing a duel with a
bar wench) he died from a poisoned blade in a Barrow Wight's tomb.
Falcon Clan
Major Bandit Clan
The Falcon Clan are the most honourable of the Clans. They are fierce,
proud fighters, but will not kill unless they have to. They will take what
they want by force.
The Nameless One church has strongly influenced the Clan, promising
them exta powers for no cost.
Eagle Clan
Major Bandit Clan
Members of the Eagle Clan will gain goods any way they can. Theft,
murder, kidnapping, and trapping are their usual methods.
The clan is the possibly unique position of having Nameless One and
Church of Light followers working together, in order to prevent the other
clans destroying them.
GriffonHawk Clan
Major Bandit Clan
The apparently least organised clan, Griffonhawks prey off the weak
and defenceless. Their leaders are known for their berserker fury.
