| This pub which dates back to around 1450 is said to house nine ghosts, which include the "Amersham Martyrs ", a hooded woman dressed in white, and a gaoler called Osman who sent the martyrs to their death. At one time, the moans and groans from these restless spirits were so loud it was difficult for guests and live in staff to sleep at night... |
