white hart
It is believed that Mr Donald Ross, possibly one of the most popular landlords in the history of the pub, still occasionally enjoys the company of the customers today, more than 80 years after his death. Born in Scotland, he moved south and became the landlord of The White Hart during the 1920's, where his talent for playing the violin was often on display. Always dressed in a Norfolk jacket and knee high breeches, with hand knitted stockings which were turned back at the knee, he often gave playing his violin priority over the needs of his customers.
He is believed to have been playing his violin to the customers of the packed pub on the night he died, and when ever his ghost is seen it has always been accompanied by music. However, the present landlord is thankful that he isn't one of the people who have seen the ghost of Donald Ross, as it is rumoured he only makes his presence known when he feels the pub is not being run to his high standards.
