CHESHIRE
marple hall
Marple Hall is haunted by the headless ghost of a figure thought to be King Charles I. In the 17th century, the Hall was owned by Henry Bradshaw, brother of John Bradshaw who had signed the King's death warrant.
The River Goyt, near the Hall, is haunted by the ghost of a Cavalier, who was supposed to be the lover of Henry Bradshaw's daughter. Being discovered at the house, the Cavalier was killed and his body was thrown into the river. The unhappy girl died of grief, and is said to walk the banks of the river looking for the body of her Royalist lover.
