The building itself was a former medieval manor house, owned by the Tripconey, Harris and Bolitho families throughout the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and is a majestic, grandiose and commodious place, occupying an elevated position 300 feet above sea level, commanding grand views of Mounts Bay.
There are ghost stories galore… of Wild Harris; Thrifty Old Harris; Old man Harris; The Cradle; A housekeeper; The Stoking Ghost; The Brown suited Man; A rattling coach and horses (headless?) and a young girl who was imprisoned in the summerhouse; to name but a few |
