The building itself was a former medieval manor house, owned by the Tripconey, Harris and Bolitho families throughout the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries and is a majestic, grandiose and commodious place, occupying an elevated position 300 feet above sea level, commanding grand views of Mounts Bay.
