| The Old Itchell Manor House had the reputation of being haunted when members of the Lefroy family were in residence-but not when occupied by other people. One village legend says that someone was killed in the manor house when a quarrel broke out during a gambling party and a faded blood stain appeared as new on the anniversary of the murder. Another tale went that on certain nights a phantom coach raced away from the manor and down nearby Hyde Lane. |
