The Grail Court Hotel, known as Staffordshire’s most haunted hotel, is reputedly haunted by nine ghosts with over 20 witness sightings within the last year alone!
The ghost know as John the Barrelman has been experienced by many staff in the cellar of the hotel. He is often heard banging around to attract attention.
In rooms 21 and 23 are the ghosts of three children as well as a lady who looks out of the window. If anyone waves at the lady, she disappears...
One of the most haunted parts of the hotel, The Avalon Suite, is notorious for ghostly incidents. It was once three small cottages and prior to that it was as stables during the Civil War. One the most disturbing sightings in this area of the hotel was by a woman who witnessed a group of people gathered round a coffin – It appears that was witnessing a spectral wake!
A coachman is said to wander outside the building and in the car park. He has even been caught by the CCTV cameras a number of times…
There has been paranormal activity reported at the Grail Court for years.As well as the Coachman, orbs of white light have been clearly captured by the CCTV cameras when the hotel is in darkness. Members of staff have also heard footsteps on the landings and on investigating find nobody there, cold spots are also felt in these locations but no draughts can be found. |
