"Alberta" is a 1955 Packard Panama Super Clipper. She is one of the last of the Clippers and was built in Packard's fabled Detroit plant. The Clippers were Packard's mid-priced line, built to compete with the likes of Buick and Oldsmobile. The last Clippers were produced in 1956. After that, Packard relocated its manufacturing to the Studebaker plant in South Bend. Packards built after 1956 weren't true Packards but were Studebakers that were given some styling changes and Packard nameplates. Alberta was one of the most popular hard top models and sold for just under $2,800 when new.

At almost 18 feet long, Alberta weighs more than 3,000 pounds. She is powered by a 225 horsepower, 320 cubic inch V8 engine and a Twin Ultramatic transmission. Unlike more expensive models she does not have the complicated torsion bar leveling system.
