Whew! 6 months down the line!

June 25th aka Switch625 day ;) 2003

It's 6 months to the day since I first published my little tribute to the one and only Stephen Maynard Clark.
Some webmasters/mistresses have a goal of a certain number of site hits they want to reach in their first 6 months or a year since their site's conception, as a pointer to whether their site is successful. I guess it's usually the main way to judge whether a site's successful or not, but it's a little different for me.

I'm not the competitive type... Never have been, never will be. The only goal I had with my site was that if I could help just one person suffering with the same problems as Steve then I would truly have achieved something to be proud of. That may sound like a small goal to some people, but it wasn't - it means a lot to make a difference to just one person's life. To make a difference to more than one person... well, there are no words to describe the feeling of knowing something you've created has helped people through tough times.

Sometimes I wonder whether I've done the right thing (the GI section pages were emotionally draining - a Steve photosite would have been far easier) but knowing that this site helps people - not only those suffering from depression, but also those caring for someone with depression - makes the blood, sweat and tears it takes to create it all worth while. My labour of love for Steve continues...

Thank you so very much for sticking along for the ride,

Clarkie's Angel
Dedicated - as ever - with love to Stephen Maynard Clark.
