The Healing Power of Time

They say that time heals
That time cleanses
That time makes it all OK.

If so, it's only because we forget
We forget our pain... and theirs
We forget it all
Details grow foggy, then disappear
Hours vanish, then entire days, then pieces of years

What were you doing in 1995?
May 18? 8:09PM?
Who were you with? What shirt were they wearing?
Perfume? Shoes? The places you went?
Were they smiling that day?
Did they do something that made you love them a little more?

Time has "helped" you forget, hasn't it?

But if time heals by forgetting
Then I want no part of it.
I choose the pain

I don't want to forget her voice,
Her eyes, her smile
Her habits

Her love

I ignored some moments then,
But I treasure them all now
I don't want to forget

But I suppose my memory will fail
Time goes on...

Time...

......heals.
