Warren Klass - A Belated Eulogy

February 29, 2008

I just found out from recent emails that Warren Klass passed away in October, 2007.

This is a very sad day for me. Warren and I always remained friends, and I should like to say a few words.

I always had, always will have, the greatest respect for Warren than for anyone else.

We knew each other almost entirely by email, a few phone calls,
and one time we almost met, but, Warren could not make the trip at the last moment.
Warren was mostly going to come to visit with a mutual friend of us both, Bayla Pernica,
who had helped us both understand what the fight against anti-smoking is really all about, the bigger picture.
I shall always regret missing that opportunity to meet Warren face-to-face.

Michael McFadden, author of "Dissecting Anti Brains"
emailed me recently to say he had gotten to meet and shared a room with Warren
at a Pro Smokers Conference in Las Vegas in 2005,
to say Warren was very intelligent and knowledgeable,
and just an all-round really nice guy.

Pam of Opponents of Ohio Ban
emailed to say "I'll do everything in my power to help make his dream a reality."

Warren's dream she refers to was to help defeat Anti-Smoking.

Warren never fully understood why so many people thought so highly of him.

When the head hunters for Mychoice contacted Warren as a possible candidate to head it,
Warren referred them to me as their possible candidate.

I urged Warren to take it as the better man, but, he felt it was too much -- even for him.

I last communicated with Warren just after he had finally left FORCES Canada,
he told me he had a new fiance, and was going to take a job with Statistics Canada,
which he said would not appreciate his continuing as President of F.C.
He deeply regretted leaving F.C.

I wished him all the best, that he deserved some happiness at last.

Warren said to me yet again that he wished I had taken the job of F.C. when I was asked to,
after Pat Hagen had left, who had taken over after Gian Turci had returned to Italy with his family,
as he, Warren, he said, was probably the worst physical example of a smoker to fight for smokers' rights,
being as sick as he was for most of his life.

I replied that the job had had the better man in Warren himself.

Warren always 'took on' the worst anti-smokers around, and, trashed them unreservedly,
and he stoically stood his ground against their never-ending monstrous attacks on him.
Even when they got the government and the police to have a go at him, Warren beat them all off.

The Anti-Smokers, especially Errol Povah, the Grim Reaper,
monstrously delighted in using his ailments against Warren.

Even in death, they would not allow Warren to rest in peace.
Psycho Povah has posted a very sick evil commentary about Warren's passing on his Grim Reaper website.

Yet, even that, in my humble opinion, is a to-be-proud-of testament too,
to Warren's relentless efforts against the enemy, anti-smokers,
that they should hate and fear Warren that much as to need to denigrate Warren even after his death,
and to heinously try to use Warren's death to further their false Junk Science claims about smoking.

I think Warren would have been proud to have inspired that final after-death attack on him.
I would love to read Warren's response to it.

Physically, Warren 'appeared' to be everything the anti-smokers claim is bad about smoking.
Even Warren himself used to say so, to the news people, in the early days of his tenure with F.C.

I felt the same way I'm ashamed to confess, about his physical conditions representing smokers' rights,
and we had some 'chats' about that for awhile, examining the much higher probability that he was genetically
predispositioned to have the ailments he suffered from, and that smoking more probably helped to lessen the pains.

I never once felt that way about Warren's efforts as Head of F.C., which are beyond reproach.

Warren himself however, as well as feeling inadequate for it, Warren never wanted the job as Head of F.C.

Butt, he knew the fight is not just about fighting anti-smoking.

He very clearly saw it is about fighting all Junk Science that is taking over the world,
that it is about Social Engineering, and Totalitarian State Societies,
that all civil liberties and rights are being eradicated.

Warren said, - if not me, then who will do this job ? -

nobody.

So, he just did it.

And, he did it very very well. He never once complained, never once criticised a fellow activist,
he just kept fighting back against the enemy every day, usually all on his own, alone, without help,
and yet he was always there to help provide information, and just chat with others, and a 'shoulder' to cry on too.

And, sick as he was himself, Warren still tried to do what he could for his ailing mother.
That was Warren, doing what he could to help others.

Warren took on the horrific terrifying thankless job as Head of F.C.
and did it way beyond the best of his abilities, and beyond those of anyone else too,
despite physically everything being against him doing anything,
when no one else had the guts to even try, including me.

Warren always did a far, far better job of it.

That is the measure of the man I knew -- Warren Klass.

We all owe Warren Klass a debt so large it can never be repaid,
but I ask that we should try,

by defeating anti-smoking, in memory and honour of Warren Klass.

Rest in peace my friend Warren Klass
