DELILAH: "Hi, good evening, welcome to Delilah After Dark!"

   MIKE: "Yeah, I was wondering, could I make a request?"

DELILAH: "You can!"

   MIKE: "Yeah, okay, um, well, I was having a really good day today, and I thought to myself, what the heck is wrong with the world? And that is, Karen Carpenter is dead.  So could you play 'Top of the World' by the Carpenters for me?"

DELILAH: "And that's what's wrong with the world?"

   MIKE: "That's the only thing that's wrong with the world, because Karen Carpenter is dead."

DELILAH: "You think that's the only thing wrong with the world?"

   MIKE: "Well, not the only thing, but one of the worst. She had such a beautiful voice."

DELILAH: "She had a beautiful voice."

   MIKE: "Yeah, she did."

DELILAH: "But guess what?"

   MIKE: "What?"

DELILAH: "That's not what's wrong with the world."

   MIKE: "What is? Tell me!"

DELILAH: "What's wrong with the world is that people have stopped caring about one another."

   MIKE: "Ohhh...I suppose you're right."

   MIKE: "Well, can you play, play 'Top, Top of the World' for me, or not?"

DELILAH: "That I could find for you. What's your name again?"

   MIKE: "Michael."

DELILAH: "Michael?"

   MIKE: "Yeah."

DELILAH: "I have a friend named Jill who loves Karen Carpenter almost as much as you do."

   MIKE: "Anyone who doesn't love Karen Carpenter is out of their mind!"

DELILAH: "Well, this girl loves her music so much she listens to it 24/7."

   MIKE: "Oh, I was listening to it on 8-track today, believe it or not."

DELILAH: "Wow."

   MIKE: "Yeah, I picked up an old 8-track over the summer, and-"

DELILAH: "Where the heck did you find a machine that still works?"

   MIKE: "Oh, well, actually it didn't work when I bought it, but I fixed it up."

DELILAH: "Good for you!"

   MIKE: "Yeah, yeah! Gotta preserve some of that old stuff, you know? It's gonna be gone before too long."

DELILAH: "Michael, let me see if I can't find a song for you."

   MIKE: "All right, thank you."

DELILAH: "Where are you calling me from?"

   MIKE: "I'm calling from Houghton College."
