Steven's Erie Adventures
This is just a little view of what I truly enjoy doing.  I  have just recently been introduced to the exciting sport of steelhead fishing thanks to my father.  This new interest has taken on a life of it's own.  With every day passing slowly in anticipation of my next trip North to Lake Erie.

I have been trying to convince my brother in to going with me but as of late we have conflicting schedules.  I know that he too will be just as hooked on it as soon as he tries it.  I have also just introduced a friend to this sport in the hope that I'll have extra buddies to go fishing with when I can.  By the smile on his face I was able to tell he was hooked just as much as I am.

As you look at the photos you can see why the sport can be so addicting.  The scenery is great and the fishing is awesome.  These fish are a considerable size larger than the trout we usually fish for.  It's incredible to watch these fish fight their way up stream.  In the shallows they have half of their bodies exposed as they fight to get to a deeper pool.  It is a true sight to watch them leap and jump when they try to pass a step up in the creek.  When you hook a real fighter to watch them leap in the air repeatedly is a true bonus.

I really wish I was able to have been on a stream during the early fall when the leaves were changing colors.  By gods good graces and my bank account permitting I will be there next year for sure.  I think I am going to have to take up fly tying as a hobby just to have enough equipment to fish with.  And what better excuse to go fishing than having a whole bunch of fly patterns made lying around going to waste when you put some much time and effort in to making them.

These newly added photos of my most recent outing will lend more credence to my stories.  Don't forget to check back soon to view photos of my most recent trip to Lake Erie.

Remember a bad day fishing is better than a good day of work.  Unless of course your job is fishing then how could you go wrong.

Good Fishing!
Didn't I see this guy on the cover of In Fisherman Magazine. Now this one should  definitely be on the cover of Fly Fishing Magazine
And they say you have to travel to Alaska to catch such great stealhead. You just gotta love the fact that Erie is only two hours away. Babe Winkleman eat your heart out.
Even with the water levels being very low, many fish were caught this day.
And they just keep getting better.
This is my father, the man I have to thank for introducing me to steelheading.  Tell me this guy doesn't look happy.
These were two of the larger steelhead kept on an earlier trip to Walnut Creek in November. Several others of similar size were returned to the stream.
