What to Expect When You Visit?

First of all, we want you to relax and be comfortable.  You are in the midst of a caring family, and we want you to feel welcome.  If this is your first visit, you might be nervous, however, we will do our best not to embarrass you or make you feel uncomfortable.  While we want you to worship with us, you have absolutely no obligation to participate in any part of the service you do not want to.  There will be a leader for each part of the service.  We do not encourage individual "spontaneous testimony" during the service as this tends to disturb the atmosphere we feel simple group worship deserves.

We sing acappella, that is, without accompaniment.  We do this, not because we can't afford an organ or piano, but because we believe they distract from pure sacrifice of praise from our lips offered to God by the voices which He created (Hebrews 13:15).  We will be lead in prayer by one of the men of the congregation.  We will also have the opportunity to participate in the lord's supper.  We do this every Sunday, just as the early Christians did.  We use fruit of the vine and unleavened bread, each representing a part of Christ's sacrifice for us.  Please feel free in refraining from partaking of this memorial if you wish.  Also, each Sunday, the church family has an opportunity to share in the physical aspects of our work through the collection or offering.  This is also in keeping with the pattern of the first century church.  We do not expect you to contribute, if you chose to, thank you.

Each Sunday, we are privileged to hear a message from the scriptures and this message will include some form of exhortation or encouragement for us to make use of God's Word in our daily life.  Again, there will be no pressure for you to respond in any way that would embarrass you.  All listeners will be encouraged to consider the things that are taught and to contact the speaker or other leaders of the assembly concerning further study or assistance.
