What we Are About?

The Church of Christ strives to be a non-denominational group of believers who desire to live and love as Jesus did. Our goal is to simply be New Testament Christians following the Bible alone as our guide in all religious matters, thus laying aside all denominations creeds and doctrines. We have done this, not because we want to condemn others who are seeking God, but because we earnestly desire to pattern our worship and teachings after the body of believers Jesus established in the first century.

In the Bible, God did not "name" this body of believers.  Individually, they were referred to as "Disciples" or "Christians" (Acts 11:26).  As a group meeting together in different locations, they were referred to by many descriptive phrases such as; "the flock" (Acts 20:28). " the temple of God" (1 Corinthians 3:16), "the body of Christ" (Colossians 1:24) or simply "the church" (Ephesians 5:25).

Collectively, the Apostle Paul referred to them as "the churches of Christ" in Roman 16:16, indicating what he had always taught, and that is, the "church" belongs to Christ (Colossians 1:18,24).  Most often, this body of believers were simply referred to as the "church in (whatever location)" (1 Thessalonians 1:1, Colossians 4:16 etc.).  Our "name" simply reflects this Biblical description and our desire to be the church of Christ.

We firmly believe that God wants all believers to be united, however, this unity must be based upon His terms written down in the Word of God and not upon the dividing doctrines and teachings of men.  We do no consider ourselves as "perfect," nor do we believe that we have attained all that God wants us to be.  We simply follow Him, and trust His Word to lead us.

We urge you to investigate.  It is our prayer that you, our friend, study the Bible alone as the only infallible guide in all religious matters.  Why not plan to visit and worship with us soon?
