Telling it as it is!
MUST SUCK TV!
"I certainly don't want my MTV" to misquote the Dire Straits anthem Money for Nothing!
With 10 music channels (on Sky Digital)and nothing worth watching. The worst culprit has to be the new Q music channel who's whole play list seems to consist of Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy, Aerosmith and REM. Everybody Hurts, sure does every time you flick the channel on!
"Must suck" candidate of the week has to go to Harry Enfield's Brand Spanking New Show(Sky1). Did Harry forget how to write comedy when he signed the contract with Sky as this show is not bad...it's worse. Week after week he repeats the same jokes over and over again. I'm sorry Harry they were first time around, not second third, fourth etc. Worst of all is his David Beckham impression which just isn't funny. If you want to laugh at Becks you let his wife do if for him.
Following a close second has to be Garry Bushell Reveals All (Men and Motors). This show is soooo bad, but what makes it worse is that ol' Garry is a TV critic for The Sun. Aimed essentially at teenagers and those who aren't getting any (including students as Men and Motors was compulsive alcohol induced watching while at Uni) this "quiz show" and I use the term in the broadest sense sees the lecherous Garry ask sex questions to two teams while a model strips off for the winning team. Good wholesome entertainment or an insult to the intelligence!
President Bush?
Am I the only one bored of the farcical US general election?
With Florida still re-counting many of their votes after a week of trying to do this does it not make you wonder why they just don't hold the election again?
Seeing as it was only really a two horse race, all that is needed is a pieces of paper two names (Bush and Gore) and one vote. Within 24 hours the Americans would have a new President and fairly!
What Fuel Blockades?
After weeks of waiting the second fuel protests went peacefully and without the mass disruption of last time!
With small outbreaks of panic buying over the past few weeks it looks as if the only winners of all this fuss was the petrol stations.
Top of the Pops
With Westlife beating KO'ing the Spice Girls to the Top Spot in the UK album charts it makes we want to ask the following questions?
1. Who cares? They are both Prefabricated Pop!
2. What is Mel C on? Her little rant last week at their launch party, especially the remarks aimed at Robbie Williams and Geri Halliwell made me wonder if she realize that their solo efforts eclipse the solo efforts of herself and her Spice Girl friends.
3. Who would have won the battle had a 'naturally formed group' released an album last week!
4. What's the difference between Westlife and Boyzone? I haven't a clue!
