Telling it as it is!
MUST SUCK TV!
I have at last found out why the WWF's November Pay-per-view is titled Survivor Series (Sky Sports1) as you have to stay awake to survive the event. Talk about crap. This was worse than a WCW TV taping! Okay the wrestlers did their best, but, HHH verses Stone Cold Steve Austin what a stinker! Come on Vince (McMahon, owner of the WWF) we know the show's not real and that both competitors are not 100% but the match just stank! As for The 'Taker verses Kurt Angle, what a joke talk about Shades of Bret Hart/HBK screw job!
At last Sky 1 have a decent British comedy in Al (The Pub Landlord) Murray's Time Gentlemen Please! This show has rarely hit a wrong note since it's debut episode. With a great ensemble cast including Phil Daniels and Julia Salwala this is a Cheers where "nobody gives a s**t who your name is"! Only problem with the show is that it follows Harry Enfield's so called comedy series!
Sky's revival of 80s classic Blockbusters should renamed the Lisa Tarbuck show! Brink Back Bob Holnes as Ms Tarbuck seems to think that the show is about her from her not so witty remarks to her ability to 'hog' the screen!
So the BBC are going to show Titanic at Christmas, thank God, maybe Sky's Movies.
Million £ Screw-Up?
Wow what a coincidence that the Who Wants to be a Millionaire jackpot is finally won on the day on which the final episode of One foot in the Grave is shown on BBC!
Coincidence? I don't know nor do I care, but the fact that winner Judith Keppel, by all accounts, does not exactly need the money and for that matter does not come across as a person that would watch let alone enter quiz shows comes across as a little weird. Closing thought Monopoly 21 checkers and chess yeah, yeah, yeah - Man on the Moon - REM.
Queen Pheasant Plucker!
I love the Queen! She is so kind to animals and the fact that she was photographed wringing the neck of a pheasant at the weekend makes me love what she has done for wildlife and wildlife conservation even more!
Come on, this nice old lady really loves the countryside! Nothing beats what the Royals do for it from the shooting of Pheasants to the eradication of those pesky foxes that seem to pop-up everywhere! Where would the countryside be without people like these....a better place!
Star Rip-off!
At last the Star Wars Trilogy (rrp £40) is back on video after an absence of almost three yeas and if you believe Lucasfilm it is for those who were introduced to the movies through Episode 1. With a 10 minute featurette about Episode II.
This reissue is in essence for the fans to be resold the trilogy on Video when they really want DVD and to ensure they buy it they put on the 10 minute teaser. So the cost of the video really is £4 per minute! Thanks George (Lucas) I'm sure us fans have enough copies of the movies. Two words DVD Video.
