Telling it as it is!

Branson Screwed!

The term "Nice guy finishes last" took a new meaning this week as the Lottery Commission granted Camelot control of the national lottery over Richard Branson's People's Lottery!

I'm sorry but does public opinion account for nothing as Richard Branson is without a doubt the people's choice and seeing as it is the general public that funds the National Lottery then it should be up to us to decide who we want to run it!

Let's hope that Sir Richard appeals!

Sophie Dahl and the Opium Ad!

So the Advertising Standards authority has decided to ban billboard featuring a tasteful naked image of Sophie Dahl advertising perfume. I am sorry but what is the problem. I am all for censorship where necessary, but I also believe in freedom of speech and artistic creativity.

So a few feminists and parents find it to be in bad taste and have had the time to deface a few billboards with slogans like "This is a rape fantasy". What is their problem. There is more nudity in tabloid newspaper and that is not as artistic.

People should consider the effects of video games and the content of certain children's programming before criticizing advertising.

Spare a thought!

This Christmas while waiting in a long queue to be served spare a thought for the poor shop staff who have to take no end of hassle not only from customers (who expect a full range of stock on Christmas eve) as well as from bone idle managers who cannot figure out where the shop floor is!
