Telling it as it is!
MUST SUCK TV!
The WWF Royal Rumble (Ch 4) was pretty terrible on Sunday night in every sense that it could be culminating in some of the most choreographed wrestling that this fan has seen in a long time!
I'm sorry but the title match between Triple H and Kurt Angle
had he makings of a classic until Steve Austin interrupted the match and
Angle retained the title!
Does Vince McMahon (owner and writer) realise that people just don't like Angle that much? He's a great wrestler, but, this interference angle that Vince seems to be so keen on as of late does little for Angle's accomplishments (he's a legitimate Olympic gold medalist mat wrestle).
As for the Rumble itself, surprise, Steve Austin won! The reasons he won were a) He's the biggest wrestling draw ever; b)The Rock is going to pursue his film career this year and Austin has came back from a severe injury at the right time to fill the void left by 'The People Champion'.
Not nearly as bad was the showing of WWF Match Classic (Sky Sports) from 1986, an era where Hulk Hogan had some hair and wrestlers looked as camp as could be!
The highlight of this show was a match between the Killer Bee's (yes they were as bad as they sound, in looks and wrestling ability) against a team of a nobody and a youngster from wrestling school named Jack Foley (aka Cactus Jack, Mankind, Dude Love and best selling author Mick Foley).
It was interesting to see the younger King of Hard-core jobbing (being there to make the other wrestlers looking good) a match.
From this one match you would not believe that 15 years later Mick Foley would have been back in the WWF as one of it's greatest legends!
Unlike Hulk Hogan, Mick Foley has now retired from the ring at an age where he can maintain his status as a legend of the sport!
Mandy Sacked.... Again
Peter Mandelson caused more upset for poor ol' Tony Blair this week for the second time after having to resign over allegedly using his influence to gain a British Passport for an Indian backer of the Millennium Dome.
Surprise or what.....nah, he screwed up the first time around and now he has done it again. Everyone in Politics must have seen it except for Mr Blair. And, with fresh allegations that Leicester East's Labour MP is also involved it looks like this story has some more time to run.
The bad news is that this adds up to more ammunition for little Billie Hague who, is the most irritating man in Politics.
Dangerous Dubya!
As George W Bush was sworn in as the new President of the USA he confirmed in his first speech as President why I find him to be the most dangerous man in the free world!
First he announced his plan on federal aid for international groups which support abortion, then he announced his plans to build a national missile defense system.
Who does Dubya think he is?
Regarding abortion, I feel it is up to the individual involved and the circumstances they are in and NOT a President to dictate.
As with the missile defense plan, is he asking for trouble? Let's all rearm, declare Russia (what's left of it) the enemy and reinstate the cold war.....Jackass!
If Clinton was the President of Peace, Bush is the President of "Lets prepare for War!"
Web World
Last year Page 3 celebrated it's 30th Anniversary in The Sun and like all national institutions it has it's own official site on the net at www.page3.com
Now this is in reality not that bad a site if you are looking for images of attractive young women baring the breasts in tasteful poses.
With the added members only section The Lodge, Classic Page 3 in the Gold section as well as downloadable Wallpaper this makes for a site that is in essence dedicated to women sans clothes and not much else.
More information about the models (including their full names) would make for a better site.
If you like that check out www.megastar.co.uk (Daily Star online) which is pretty much like Page3.com but with stories and more information!
This is very much the classic Page 3 format of the 80s that The Sun has veered away from over the past few years.
