Telling it as it is!

In the Genes

Scientists working on the human genome project announced discovered that man has less genes than expected. Approximately 30,000, only 10,000 more than a round worm and 20,00 more than a Politician!

Round the World Winner!

Congratulations must go out to 24 year old Ellen MacArthur for becoming the fastest and youngest ever woman to circumnavigate the globe in a round the world yacht race. She may have came second, but with a feat like that she will always be a winner!

Titter ye not!

Pictures of topless servicewomen posing in The Sun did little to help the reputation of women n the military this week as the Sun dedicated a heavy proportion of it's Page 3 this week to the ladies who's motto must be "She who bares wins" and sparks outrage from their superiors.

As long as they put on a bold front they'll be all right!

Napster Unplugged!

Napster was instructed by the courts to stop distributing music that it knows to be copyrighted this week to stop Web surfers from obtaining music that they did not pay for.

Now I can see both sides of the argument. The artistes deserve the royalties that they are entitled to, but the prices of CDs/CMS is a joke. At an average of £14 for a CD album and £4 for a CD single it's a joke!

The only people that are getting rich seems to be the retailers and the labels. If the industry want to combat Napster (and similar sites that will be erected in Napsters temporary demise) they should think about lowering the prices.

paedophile Jail Joke!

The Judge presiding over the pitiful sentences of between 12 and 30 months for seven members of the internet paeodphile ring The Wonderland Club should be ashamed of himself.

These perverts deserved a lot longer! A pathetic sentence like this does very little to discourage others like them. The seven should have been made an example of as a warning to other paeodphile who use the internet to fulfill their sick fantasies!

Be Profits!

Oil giant BP Amco announced annual profits of £9.7 bn on Wednesday. So that should mean a price reduction at the pumps and in their service station shops would be in order.......NOT!

The Truth (Mulder) is out there!

X Files (series 8) returned to Sky with a bang this week with Scully and Skinner looking for Mulder (whose been abducted by Aliens and facing some pretty nasty experiments) with newcomer (and Mulder replacement) Doggett played by T2's Robert Patrick.

What I love about the X Files is that it gets better with every series. Rather than being stale after an eight year run it is fresher than ever.

Newcomer Doggett replaces now believer Scully as the skeptic whose presence and character can hold his own against a character as strong as Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully.

If the feature length opening is an indication of the rest of series 8 X files will be must see TV for a long time.
