Telling it as it is!

Chris Evans Virgin Sacking!

At last Virgin radio chiefs have came to their senses and sacked their wayward morning DJ and national prat Chris Evans!

Evans who had been 'off sick' which is slang for 'drunk as a skunk' for the past few days was given his papers from the station that he once owned!

Oh how my heart bleed for the my favorite Ginger DJ! No, but seriously I DO feel sorry for all of the pubs that will go out of business in the area now that their star patron has left!

Kenneth Clark Stands!

At last Kenneth Clarke has announced that he intends to stand for the Tory leadership. If he had won last time then the Tories would not be in the bad shape that they are in now!

Writing as an impartial (I won't vote Conservative on principal) I feel that Ken Clarke is the best candidate for the position as he seems to be the only one that you can trust, pretty much in the same way as John Major.

So Good Luck Ken!

Charles and Camilla Kiss!

One of the social highlights of the week for many was the first public kiss between Prince Charles and his mistress Camilla Parker Bowles.

I found it interesting as I have never seen a man kiss a horse before! (No I'm not a Diana supporter before you ask!)

Shrek: Movie of the year?

Now it is rare for me to comment on great movies in my column but after watching the incredible Shrek I feel that it deserves a mention!

This film is the best Animated feature to come out of Hollywood since the original Toy Story, with it's humor lodged directly in that rarely tappable bracket between child and adult.

Okay the animation is mediocre, but is forgivable, but the script and voice performances from Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy and John Lithgow make this such an incredible movie.

I have not laughed out loud at a new movie since American Pie so this film was a warm welcome back. With it's constant digs at Disney and outlandish humor it makes for one of the best nights out I have had in a while.

R.E.M on Q!

R.E.M have done it again. Back on music channel Q with what has to be the best music video so far this year!

All the way to Reno, their next single, is a real feel good music video that shows the funny side of a group that puts out some of the most innovating music. videos of all time.

Recorded around a school using video cameras All the way to Reno cannot help to put a smile on your face with Michael Stipe and Co. hamming it up big time.

And to top it off the songs not that bad either! It's contagious, you'll be humming it for weeks!
