Telling it as it is!
Anyone who has read my editorial before will realize that I do not buy all this support British farmers patriotism. With reports that farmers are offering infected cattle to those not infected so that they can claim compensation worth more than the cattle reinforces my opinion.
Farmers never supported any of the other industries when they were in crisis. They never supported the Miners or the Automotive industry; and I'm sorry but the myth of poor farmers is just a myth.
In my opinion the Farmers have themselves to blame for this mess so why should the Government and the Tax Payers bail them out. Had it been Jo Public that was facing financial ruin do you think that the Government would help out!
Queen Mother 101
The Queen Mother hit 101 years of age this week, which is a major feat in itself, even though she has lived an easy and privileged life.
I'm sorry but speaking as a Republican what about all the other people that live to be over 100? I'm sorry but they are just as deserved to have the attention as the Queen Mother. It annoys me that we treat the Royal family with as much respect as a nation yet we forget that there are others out there who are just as and if not more deserved of the attention that we shower on these people.
Peta in fishing ban!
Animal rights group Peta (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) this week announced that they want fishing banned!
At last a group that shares my opinion! For years I have said that they should ban fishing as it is cruel to put a hook through a fish mouth and put it through the stress that it goes through all in the name of sport.
Nice one Peta!
Cats and Dogs
If you don't see one family film this year DON'T see Cats and Dogs. This film is a real stinker.
After reading a lot of good praise about the movie I decided to go and check it out for myself and was I disappointed!
This film pretty much sucks on all levels! The story is predictable, the characters are one dimensional and the Special Effects are not that special!
Okay so it is only a children's movie, but then again so are Toy Story and Shrek to name just two
. The story is pretty simple, cats led by Mr. Tinkle want to take over the world and to do this must stop a scientist (Jeff Goldblum)from inventing a dog allergy formula that will make everyone dog friendly. The only animals to stop them are Secret Agent dogs!
Now this is a plot that could have worked so brilliantly had the dogs not been so boring and the cats had better writers and more screen time.
The low point was the Ninja Cats doing a 'Matrix', as it makes you realize how much better Shrek was doing the same gag! If you want to watch animals fighting just watch some old Tom and Jerry as they are much more funnier!
