Kylie 1 - Becks 6

As much as I find Kylie's brand of camp dance music rather annoying (her latest track was written by one of the members of 70s icons Mud so what do you expect) it was great to see the 80s pop legend at the top of the charts while her 90s contemporary and so called rival Vicoria Beckham failed to hit the No.2 spot (she entered at No.6).

Not that I am one to gloat but as a five piece the Spice Girls were responsible for the best of bubble-gum pop, but like all prefab groups, the cracks in their talent begins to show when they believe that they are bigger than the commodity that made them.

With the exception of Robbie Williams and to a lesser extent Ronan Keating prefab groups talent hides in the fact that the 'faces' of the groups can hide behind one or two members that have a small degree of talent.

Kylie may not have the strongest voice in the world but at least it doesn't need to be rammed through synthesizers and a mixing desk ala Becks to prove that she has some talent.

My advice to Victoria is to go back to Planet Hello magazine and leave the music industry to those with a bit of talent.

5ive split

Pop legends in their own heads 5ive have split after months of rumors.

5ive famous for hits such as Lets Dance as well having a member (the effeminate Ritchie) that used to be engaged to munchkin Billie Piper who married Chris Evans.

Now what I find interesting about 5ive is the fact that in a few years they will be known as "remember that group that...oh maybe it wasn't them".

Pop is such a fickle thing and for every Take that, Boyzone and Backstreet Boy you have a 5ive, Westlife and *Nsync.

It will interesting to see how long royalties last before they announce their comeback on the 90s nostalgia tours.

Duke of Morons

I am not a royalist and if you read any of my previous Editorials you will see that I can be very scathing in my opinions of these parasites, but Price Edward the Earl of Wessex proved this week that he is probably the biggest moron of the lot.

He is the ultimate Parasite! Not only is it bad enough the he lives off of his HRH and his TV/Film Company that is running at a loss (the only subject they cover is Royalty) This week he showed that he is happy to live off of his own Nephew William by breaking a Media ban on filming the young Prince at University after the show-piece photo session had ended.

Who does he think he is? The Media blackout (which has been respected by the rest of the world media) was enforced to give William privacy and for Edward to break this rule just goes to show what a moron he really is.

Apparently Charles has had words with Edward, but how must he feel knowing his own brother is living like a leech trying to live off of his son.

Edward should now do the right thing and emigrate with his equally idiotic wife to a place where they can do no more harm. I hear that the North Pole is nice at this time of the year.

No-Go's!

This week Ticket Master announced that American Rock outfit the Go-Go's had canceled their only UK date at the Shepherds Bush Empire.

Okay to many this is a case of the who-whos? But those who know realize that the Go-Go's are one of the most influential female rock groups in the world. If there was no Go-Go's and I can near guarantee there would be no Bangles or Hole!

Although the girls canceled their tour I would like to thank the them for producing the best album I have heard so far this year (God bless the Go-Go's, out in the UK October 15th) and especially Kathy Valentine for the message to her small band of UK fans on their gogos.com website. Thanks Kathy.
