Telling it as it is!
War what is it good for?
As Bruce Springsteen sings "War what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!"
As of last Sunday the American and British forces began Air strikes against Afghanistan's Taliban Regime while al-Qaida's leader Osama bin Laden all but admitted to the US attacks and promised more.
All this and now Anthrax found in both Florida and now New York!
Now I am a pacifist and do not believe that this is a war that the American and British can win without a real fight and loss of lives.
If al-Qaida have 'sleeper' terrorist all over the world then attacks like the Anthrax one (believed to be by terrorists) will become more.
The scary things is that the terrorists have no qualm in suicide missions which makes it more difficult to stop them without endangering innocents that are in their way.
There should have been a longer war of words before Bush decided on military action.
Is the WWF Tough Enough?
For the past few months the World Wrestling Federation has been trying to sell its recently purchased WCW and ECW to new TV stations and the result has been a feud between WWF and the WCW/ECW Alliance.
Now this has made for some pretty boring TV and for the first time since the Hulk Hogan 'superhero' era of the 80s/early 90s Wrestling has became pretty boring.
With no competition from ECW and WCW Vince has his major rivals although their talent is pretty thin (with the exception of Diamond Dallas Page, Tazz and Rob Van Dam).
Now that the MTV originated Tough Enough (Big Brother with muscles) is over the WWF should look to either creating a similar behind the scenes programme or try and lure Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels out of retirement as their current roster lacks the presence of such stars.
Even the trainers Jacqueline, Al Snow and Tori (as well as Tazz) all showed the heart and emotion that it takes to work in the business. The trainers are the best of the mid-carders who if they were given a chance would be the best champions.
Both of Tough Enough's winners Nidia and Maven are great prospects for the future of wrestling but then again so are two of the runners up Taylor and Josh.
I would love to see all four of them wrestle on a main event in the future as
Now that the MTV originated Tough Enough
And now that the short lived MTV originated Tough Enough (Big Brother with muscles) has finished and the winners.
England Qualify!
As much as I dislike Manchester United I have to admit that David Beckham is without a doubt the best player currently in the England squad if not the world!
Last weeks well fought 2-2 draw with Greece went to prove that Greece were not going down without a fight (their coach is German) and that Michael Owen and David Seaman (both injured) could have made the scores a little different.
Although England has some very good players, they only have one Beckham, Owen and Seamen and if they are injured then the squad is hampered.
It was great to see Teddy Sheringham come on as a substitute and score immediately. It just goes to show that even the old timers can still be of use on the international stage (some thing that I hope Sven Goran remembers when he is picking his world cup squad).
