Still telling it as it is!

Hear'Say the tour is off?!

Hear'Say (Pop's greatest prefabricated) bubble has well and truly burst with the announcement that they have had to reschedule their September tour dates (industry code for cancel) to give Kym Marsh's replacement Johnny Shentall time to learn the dance routines and songs!

But wait, wasn't Mr Shentall one of their dancers so he should know the songs? I think the pure and simple truth must be poor ticket sales!

After the very mediocre sales of their second album (entering the UK Top 40 at a not to impressive No.20), Kym March leaving as well as the con trick that was the search for Kyn's replacement, Hear'Say seem to be staring at Pops scrapheap just over a year after they were manufactured.

The life span of a manufactured group was always meant to be short, but, after notching up one of the fastest selling debuts of all time and with some of the best writers, management and producers in the business behind them Hear'Say's light seems to be all but out!

Will Young's Revelation

As much as I dislike the way Will Young was discovered (through a TV contest) and the fact that his music is mediocre my hat goes off to Mr Young for coming out of the proverbial closet as such!

As much as I hate to use the term "coming out of the closet" as he did not as such, with his friends and family knowing for some time. It's not as if it is a big thing to Will and those close to him. But, in terms of the music industry this is a major breakthrough and shocking revelation.

No high profile artiste has came out just as they are about to hit the big time before, and for Mr Young to do it a week after breaking the records for the fastest UK debut was a bit of a risk!

Now as far as I am concerned when it comes to any forms of entertainment then it is the person and what they do that matters, not their sexual preferences.

If you like a person, then just because they turn out to be gay, it does not affect the way that you see them. I was an REM fan for years before I found out that Michael Stipe cam out and I am still an REM fan (I'm listening to them as I write this column).

Those who make such a big deal about a persons sexuality should really question their own!

Schools Out: Beanfield Memories!

In all the time that I attended Beanfield Comprehensive school (between 1986-1993) the one thing that I wanted to do more than anything else was to bulldoze the place down!

Now nine years later, Corby council are doing it for me!

It's not that I don't have fond memories of the school (I don't), and the only decent thing I got out of the school was one of my buddies whom I have been friends with for near 14 years .

Now I have every right to be bitter about 'that' school! The teachers (with the exception of a few) were mediocre to say the least, sporting achievements were rewarded, creativity and academic were not!

Bullying was rife while the Headmaster (a Mr Tuffin) did little, okay, he did nothing! A-Levels were a joke (or as I now refer to them, the Nintendo years).

So good-bye Beanfield Comprehensive and good riddance!

Congratulations Christian and Aya Oliff

A big shout out to Christian Oliff of Hooj, (and drinking buddy of your truly) who got married to the girl of his dreams Aya this week!

Nice one dude!!!!
