Queen Mother Dies
A nation was in mourning this week with the passing of the Queen Mother at the weekend.
Now as sad as I feel for her family, I cannot write anything heartfelt about how much I respected her for what she has done for Britain and how much I thought that she was a great Royal, as it would be complete hypocrisy!
I am not a royalist, and to be honest there has been not been the mourning like there was with Princess Diana!
I worked in retail both on Sunday as I did when Diana died and with Diana there was a noticeable feeling in the air. For the Queen Mother it was business as usual.
Peter Buck is Innocent
At last the judge in the air-rage trial of REM's Peter Buck declare him innocent!
I don't think that I can write any more than I already have about this subject, needless to say over the past year since the allegations through the trial and the stopping and starting I have declared my support for Peter Buck.
Okay, this is one time in which I will admit that I am biased and I am glad that he has been found innocent, but, REM are so high-profile group with a low profile as people that these allegation against Mr Buck always seems a little weird!
Now that the trial is over I can only hope that REM go back in the studio and work on another album as I believe that their best work is still to be heard!
Arsenal Go Top
Hallelujah Arsenal are at the top of the Premiership, with Liverpool second and Manchester Utd third!
It's not that I have any problem with Man.Utd, but their dominance in English football was getting a little on the boring side, and the 2001/02 season has been the most interesting premiership battle seen so far!
I only hope that Arsenal and Liverpool can keep clean sheets until the end of the season and make Sir Alex's players work a little harder to win next year!

Moulin Rouge(Region 2 DVD) Review
"Spectacular Spectacular" is the only way to describe Baz Luhrmann's musical extravaganza Moulin Rouge.
Whatever Baz was on (probably Absinth) when he co-wrote Moulin Rouge, I would like some as he has created a movie that mixes/reworks contemporary music with classical theater.
From the Sound of Music to Lady Marmalade, Elton John to Nirvana to Queen all get reworked and remixed and used to great effect.
Essentially a love story about writer, Christian (Ewan McGregor)who falls for a Courtesans Satine (Nicole Kidman), at the Moulin Rouge club in 19th Century Paris.
Moulin Rouge is one of the most visually stunning movies to come out of the major studios in years and makes a refreshing change of pace to the standard special effects blockbusters. Nicole and Ewan have such incredible chemistry and their singing is a revelation.
With an excellent supporting cast, in particular Jim Broadbent as Moulin Rouge owner Zidler and John Leguizamo as Toulouse Lautrec, the leader of the Bohemians, Moulin Rouge is a must see movie that is entertaining from start to finish!
The extras are out of this world on this two disc extravaganza with two commentary tracks, a Behind the Red Velvet Curtain Version of the movie, uncut dance sequences, abandoned scenes, music videos etc.! With a disc over seen by Baz Luhrmann himself this DVD is one of the most extensive and best value for money on the market.
