"Oh, Go On Then!".
7th July 2001, that way with us working abroad it would give us enough time to sort everything out.
The venue we chose to hold the ceremony was Brownsover Hall, Rugby.
We had stayed there a number of times previous and had commented how nice it would be to get married in such a beautiful building. One phonecall
later and it was booked!.
What followed was a few very swift phonecalls but to our suprise, no problems. This time the date was set definite - 30th December 2000.
Having only 8 weeks until the wedding didn't give us much time to get used to the idea but we managed to get everything sorted in the end.
The day went well - even with a few surprise's. Our friend Floyd sang a love song during the ceremony and our niece Olivia read 2 beautiful poems, there was not a dry eye in the house!.
After we had signed the register we all sat down to a lovely dinner and a few glasses of plonk. When finished, we retired to the comfort of the hotel bar where Floyd and my now father-in-law Martin where arm in arm singing duets - much to the appreciation of the crowd. Sadie and I decided to call it a night and went back to our room but couldn't get in. I had put the room key in my overcoat and during the night had taken it off. Carefully, I retraced my steps trying not to look as drunk as I felt. Having
woke up friends, grandparent's and the duty manager I finally found it in Sadie's parent's room.
All in all the wedding was fantastic and we shall remember it always.
