Norman Ford's Do-It-Yourself Bike Tour Page

Norman Ford is obviously a hard core bike touring expert. He's has taken 37 overseas tours and recently did Corsica! His page is a great reference for destinations and itineraries. I printed out his nine page description of biking Western Ireland and went over it thoroughly. Must See!!

Performance Bike

This is a good source for bike equipment.

Nashbar Bike

This is another good source for bike equipment on line. Frankly, I haven't used either Performance nor Nashbar, but it is good for having a sense of the premium I may pay at my local bike shop. I want to support the local shops but it is good to know what the alternatives are. In a couple cases where I specifically want what I see on line I've told a shop to buy it online themselves and then mark it up for the value-added in getting it thru them, installation, etc.
