(Genesis
1: 24-30 & 2:7) And God said: Let the earth bring forth the living creature
after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his
kind: and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and
cattle after their kind, and every thing that creeps upon the earth after his
kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said: Let us make man in our image,
after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and
over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in His own
image, in the image of God created He him, male and female He created them. And
God blessed them and said unto them: Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish
the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all
the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to
you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of
the air, and to every thing that creeps upon the earth, wherein there is life,
I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. And the Lord God formed
human of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of
life; and man became a living Soul.
From Europe to the USA and other over-consuming nations, the focus and emphasis
on employment income and progress prowess is being made manifest: It's
destroying a powerful planet, God’s gift to humanity and our very source of
life, and extinction is forever: See the Union of Concerned Scientists Website
(and the Authors) for data as well as links to other sites with even more data!
Now if that's not grand Worship, I don't know what is: Sacrificing one's own
Planet and future descendants (your progeny), and most of the animal species,
just to have more conveniences and “stuff” in the here and now; this is the
number one most selfish act possible, or ever, within the human condition. The
USA alone, making up only 4.9% of Earth’s human population, casually consumes almost
half of the Earth's non-renewable resources! Adding all other materialism-based
countries, these groups destroy nature far beyond their own borders, they now
have a collective plundering power never experienced before in known history,
and never again. Rather than being ultra conservative with fossil fuels so they
last a few thousand years for future generations, we will exhaust them through
massive over-consumption within about a dozen decades, and doing so is
extremely corrosive and unhealthy to the biosphere. Human greed has never
changed at all, yet the ability to rape the planet with ever more precision, is
observantly devastating, but its not due to overpopulation, rather, to over
consumerism. Greed can destroy an entire planet just like it destroys an entire
Soul: utterly! With a healthy planet it could easily support 20 billion humans
if ALL those humans lived as God had intended (contentment in the basics),
which is obviously not happening since only 1 of Earth’s 7 billion humans are
being so hubris in our destructive ways. The Amish people are a reasonable
example of living in simplicity. And while some reading this now is thinking
something pompous like “well I am not going to live that way”, let me assure
you, all future humans will eventually be forced, by the planet via
circumstances we create, to “live that way”, and with even less than the Amish
now have!
All humans to have ever lived on Earth from day 1 until up to the
industrial revolution (a century ago) consumed less resources than all of
modern humanity now does every year. China alone is 14% of the human
population, and is one of the largest country’s yet consumes only a fraction of
planetary resources. Why? Because the majority of their population is what
Aristocrats would call poor, and thus they cannot afford the “luxuries” of life
that is doing all the over-consuming, plus they are primarily agrarian. But the
question remains: poor compared to what? People feel poor, not because they
wash their clothes by hand and line dry them, but because other people have
machines (washers and dryers), and they do not. Communities who have only ridden
bicycles for transportation never feel poor until they are faced with competing
automobile traffic. The modern City of Amsterdam has nearly a million bicycles;
they do not feel repressed or “poor” in the absence of the personal automobile!
People are lazy and justify luxuries as necessities that they must support with
money that they must make at a job for a company that, in one way or another,
exploits the land as well as other greedy people, so they can earn profits to
pay their hirelings. These is the viscous cycle called Capitalism; even though
it is profiteers call it conventional consumerism and try to credit Capitalism
with good things. But nothing good came out of Capitalism…ever, even though
good comes out of America, from Americans, and one must learn to distinguish
between the carnality of greed and covetousness, and which piece of land mass
one was born/resides on! Greed is the god of Capitalism; it is an "I got
mine, to hell with the rest" mentality. This fact is supported by the scientific
reports! Capitalism’s propaganda is masterfully laced with a message of
personal freedom, but most are still prisoners, not of space, but of self, and
their future descendants will pay the ultimate price for their planet
plundering. The USA now has buried enough nuclear waste to kill the human race
a dozen times; a deliberate, expensive time bomb that has a greater destructive
force than the sum of all known earthquakes to have ever shook the Earth
combined.
At the same time when people at the center of all life, were enslaving other
people to build enormous Monuments unto themselves, their were also tribal
natives on every other huge land mass on Earth, and yet the way each lived here
on Earth was radically different. Landmarks of human presence and ancestry
abound everywhere to a lesser or greater degree, but that degree is very
important because it represents the lifestyles of its inhabitants. Speaking of
waste dumps, let's look at the round-up of the Native Americans, who left
buried behind them, only tents, clay huts, tools and kitchenware, hunting and
defense weapons of as their legacy. The white man forcefully took their sacred
ground and later, put up a parking lot! While many see ancient monuments,
monumentally, I see hubris and self-important landmarks created at the expense
of human life, to satiate the sagging egos and emotional needs of power-mongers
to leave a legacy on the planet to show future generations, as well as those at
that time, just how big and important they are. This production is passed down
psychologically to other humans who, when brought up incomplete, will abuse the
world and the life therein, to magnify themselves so that they feel important
and significant. Without these productions, they have no self-worth and feel
small and impotent. They are the most pitiful of all humanity, and yet they are
magnified and glorified and even worshipped, by future generations of humans
who are equally impotent and thus, feel the same way: the need to leave their
mark on human history as the only substance to their corporeality. This same
basic human feature is expressed in all cultures and in all timelines: indeed
we are hopelessly human, from the first to the last. In the Capitalist arena,
this same need to “be someone” is marked by employment being the new god of
human existence, wherein self-importance and indeed, even self-identification,
is summed up in careers that, in reality, only add bile to the ultimate
destruction of humanity regurgitated by this biosphere (assuming its not
stopped)! Each year in the U.S. alone, the "postal" bulk mail
industry consumes over 450 million trees just to make the paper used in sending
their advertisements and promotions. Using email instead can significantly
reduce this consumption, while at the same time decreasing the billions of tons
of paper waste filling our landfills. Save the trees, save the planet, use
email!
