Tuesday Took the bus south avoiding
the metroplis of Guayaquil completely.
Crossed the border to Tumbes and then
took the 20 hour bus for $10 to Lima,
One thing was impressive as soon as you
cross the border the coastal scenary changes from jungley banana plantations
to , very impressive desert. I don´t know why , but I feel better
about Peru than I do about Ecuador
Wednesday - Visited the pyramids in
the rich suburbs of Miraflores. Impressive to see these ancient monuments
right amongst the modern buildings. The locals don´t seem, interested
in them, I think the Peruvians are conditioned to regard pre Spanish things
as unimportant.
