The last weeks were very busy with finishing the class and planning travel. So I didn't get time to chat like I wanted to .

I Chile everything is 500 pesos 1000 pesos , In Argentina it's much cheaper things are 5 peseos 10 pesos etc

too bad that one peso is one dollar !
41 dollars for the bus last night ,ouch !

buy an Argentinian for his real value......
.....then sell him for waht he thinks, his value is !!

Well here is some news on what I have been doing ...

Fri -18/12/99 - I left Maria Elena for San Pedro...found the bus to Argentina had left 2 hours before and the next one was on Wednesday

Sat - I left Chile on the 90th day of a 90 day visa. I paid some Paraguayian truck drivers to take me over the pass. A spectacular journey through desert, salt lakes etc I arrived in Jujuy at 6.30 pm

Sun - When the tourist information told me there was a Jungle nearby . I decided I had to visit. So there really is a jungle with Parrots pumas etc only 14 hours from Maria Elena.

Then I went down to Salta. 

Then along a Arizona type canyon to the wine growing town of Cafayete,

more desert ... I got a ride from someone who told me he was a bricklayer...then he showed some of the buildings he made

then to Tafi de Vali and through green green cloud forest to Tucuman.An amazing change of climate in that 200Km journey !

Then I took the nightbus to Mendoza ..
I guess I will take the bus over to Santiago on Tuesday then on to Viña, south Chiloe ..back into Arg then down to Calafate, Torres Del Paines Tierra Del Fuego etc
