37. Argentina - Kind People in nowhere places 17/2/00 To me Tierra Del Fuego was not so exciting for the scenary ..mostly bleak and cold with some mountains and lakes in Ushaia , but the kind people were special

Wed - I left Punta Arenas on The Ferry to Tierra Del Fuego arrived at Porvenir had a quick look around (it's not so interesting). Then I hitch-hiked towards Rio Grande. A kind Argentinian family gave me a lift... Adriana Sireix, Hugo and the children Dany and Florencia ... They took me to the excellent camping at the Club Nautico , where I put my hammock up inside the building. (Hi to everyone who comes round to have a BBQ ...with Benjamin(The guardian), Inty, Cristian the other Hugo etc. Thu - I met up with Darrio and Pandora who I had met on the camino Austral. Pandora's father is a painter, so I made an internet site to show the world his work..PAINTINGS OF NORBERTO GANDINI Tue - I walked about Fri - It rained so I walked around bit. Sat - I was getting used to Argentine hours , so I went to bed at 3 at go up at 11.30 then another kind couple gave me a ride all the way to Ushuaia Sun - I climbed the 1000m glacier Mon - I climbed the 1000m glacier again 30Km in The National Park and climbed the 1000m mountain Wed - I left Ushuaia and stopped off at the Crap Hot Springs..$10 for cold water..DON?T GO It looked like rain so I headed for Rio Grande Thu - Adriana took me to the Museum of the old mission outside the town..where we bought some tasty strawberries Next I will hitch hike up to Buenos Aires ..stopping off at Cerro de La Ventana
