Fan-competition and light-show. Yesterday was the Open Day at Starlight, with fine weather a party for true fans and newbies in equal measure.
Talking of trains, delays are not unusual, but they seldom have such consequences. Because they didn´t register in time, a group of Starlight fans from England couldn´t take part in the fan- competition. "They came especially for this weekend to Bochum" regrets Nina Luckas from Starlight Express "but with 14 cover-performances on the fan stage, we were simply full."
Anyway the fans from the island could view the Starlight Hall. In long lines the visitors edged through the backstage area of the Skate- Musical. The press was very large at the room, where the costumes of the Starlight figures are stored. "Boy, this is very heavy", you could hear from younger visitors, when they had the helmet of the steam train Rusty put on their heads. Only the 7 year old Maximilian from Bochum didn´t mind the weight. He was deeply impressed by the light show, that the technicians showed on the stage yesterday. Now Maximilian, who hasn´t seen the show yet, wants to see the whole musical. It seems, that Rusty has got a new fan.
(There is a pun, they say "Anhänger" and it means fan and also coaches of a train )
