Hello, and welcome to our Student Body page. Here are just a few activities that we do here at St. Francis.
A day that the Freshmen or Fish get to meet their Big Sisters. The person they will look towards to help them and be their friend without question (and the same person who will be making them participate in doing outrageous things for their amusement).
A day on which the students have there choice of a particular theme according to class. The classes all compete for a Spirit Stick in which you win by the most creative class. Joining in our Halloween spirit are the children from St. Anthony's Day care. We the students hand out candy to all children who come and participate.
At the our Homecoming the Queen, Princess, Duchess, and Lady are voted on by their fellow students and Teachers. A Senior would be made a Queen, a Junior would be made a Princess, a Sophomore would be made a Duchess, and a Freshmen would be made a Lady.
A time when the juniors receive their class rings and prepare to become upper class-women. The ring symbolizes the accomplishments, and high honors that the Juniors have achieved at St. Francis Academy. After the ceremony refreshments are offered to the family, friends and loved ones.
The Prom is presented by the Juniors for the Senior class. At the Prom there is a Junior/Senior Prom court. Awards are handed out to the Young women for their fashion sense and their honorability for the year. They are nominated by their fellow class members, it is not a popularity contest, but for the young women that is best suited for the honor. After the awards they take portraits with their escorts. The night is full of fun and laughter especially for the seniors as their last dance of the school year.
The final day for the Seniors to move on and succeed in life also known as graduation. On this day the Seniors gather at a ceremony to wish fair well to all of their fellow classmates and teachers. At the graduation there will be a guest speaker whom once attended St. Francis Academy that will speak about his/her experiences. The class valedictorian will also present a final speech to the graduating class of 2002.
In September, we as a school gathered around the flag pole to remember all those who have fallen for the flag. We had the choir sing the National Anthem and our faculty and some parents joined in with our presence. We do many things in this school not mentioned yet. We have pep rallies for the beginning of every sport and some holidays. We also have services for many special days and occasions, for saints, for people who suffer and for those who could use a prayer. We had our marathon at our school this year due to the weather. We walked the track as a school. Afterward, we were able to sit and talk to our friends and eat with music playing. Also, speech class took time out of their class time to read books to the younger students of St. Anthony's.
