Saint George Rank Criteria
Ranks in Starfleet International are an indicator of leadership and participation.
They are awarded by the Captain for service to the ship. They are not meant to
be used to order any other member around and are not necessarily an indicator
of responsibility for the ship.
To help the crew fully enjoy all
Starfleet has to offer, and as a yardstick to measure the crewmember’s
participation, the following criteria for promotion have been devised. These
criteria are guides only. The final decision on promotion rests with the
Commanding Officer.
The following are the rank point levels for promotion on the USS Saint George.
ENLISTED RANKS:
CREWMAN - obtained upon joining Saint George
PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS - completion of one enlistment in Starfleet or passing
the Marine PD-10 course
PETTY OFFICER 2ND CLASS - as above and by the CO's judgment
PETTY OFFICER 1ST CLASS - as above and actively participates in ship activities
CHIEF PETTY OFFICER - granted upon taking a Department head position
SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER - granted at the CO's discretion
MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER - granted at the Co's discretion
OFFICER RANKS
Officer ranks are achieved by accumulating "points" for a number of
activities as listed below.
ENSIGN- Upon completion of O.T.S
LTJG.- 250 POINTS
LT. - 500 POINTS and completion of Officer's Command College
LT. COMMANDER - 750 POINTS
COMMANDER- 1000 POINTS
Ranks above Commander are awarded by SFI's Executive Committee.
These are totals, not the amount of points between ranks.
The Executive Officer is in charge
of compiling and verifying the records and recommending promotions. It is the responsibility of the individual
crew member to report any classes that member has taken and passed in either
Starfleet Academy or the Marine Academy as
well as other activities. The
crew member will also submit a report biannually to the XO of the points he has
accumulated since the last report.
The following is a list of criteria for a member to acquire
points towards promotion.
Five (5) points for each of the following:
1. newsletter article of 100 words or more.
2. wearing uniform at a sci-fi event, picture or witness
verified.
3. every 5 hrs. donated time to charity, pint of blood, or helping host a ship
related activity.
4. every year spent in Starfleet.
5. every time you wear a ship item at a ship function
6. For every 100 miles from your home you travel to a Starfleet official
function. A picture, witness, or event membership must be provided for
verification. This could be at a regional conference where you represent the
ship.

8. For every $100 per year in
charitable donations
Ten (10)

passed during the reporting period.
3. the receipt of any award, be it ship, regional, or Starfleet.
4. for every 100 dollars of coupons donated to the Overseas Coupon Program.
5. For every time you attend a Starfleet function in complete Starfleet Marine
or Star Trek uniform of any genre or time period.
Twenty (20) points for each of the following:
1. acquiring a Starfleet uniform.
2. winning of any major Starfleet award - for instance, student of the year,
member of the year, Marine of the year.
3. For every primary member you recruit to the Saint George and to Starfleet.
One may only advance one rank at a time with a minimum
time-in-grade of 6 months before the next promotion.
At
the XO's, MSG OIC's, (with the Captain's approval) discretion, more than 20
points may be awarded for other activities not listed above.
Starfleet members transferring from another ship may keep their same rank by
providing documentation of achieving that rank to the XO.
Members who have not reached adulthood may be promoted to cadet ranks or, if
they are over 13, sufficiently mature, and an asset to the ship they may
achieve regular ranks.
Starfleet regulation requires that the Commanding Officer be at least 18 years
of age and that both the CO and XO have completed OTS & OCC. OTS &
OCC do not accumulate a specific number of points as they are prerequisites
to promotion to Ensign and Lieutenant to 50 points.
