                       About Our Band Director                            

Mr Andy Sim mastered the flute the under the instruction of Mr Lee Kee Hoi from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. He has a Diploma in Music Performance on the flute and was appointed the Principal Flautist in the SAF band in 1994.

    Mr Sim first embarked on his musical "career" by playing the flute in secondary school. He was also a student conductor then, with experience in conducting at numerous school functions and concerts.

    After graduation from school, he continued his love for band music by joining the National Institute of Education Symphonic Band in 1990. He performed National Service in the Singapore Navy Band in 1991 and later played in the Singapore Armed Forces Central Band in 1994. He joined the Singapore Wind Symphony in 1992 and travelled extensively with the SWS for performance overseas.

    Formerly, he conducted the Moulmein Wind Ensemble and the bands of Bendemeer Secondary School, Northland Secondary School and First Toa Payoh Secondary School. Currently, he is the resident conductor of Kim Seng Wind Symphony and the band instructor of Greenridge Sec Sch, Holy Innocents' High School and St Hilda's Sec Sch.

    Besides conducting, Mr Sim also tutors the flute sections of Yuhua Concert Band, River Valley High Concert Band and Singapore Polytechnic Concert Band.
