St. Hilda's Symphonic Band Presents Impressions 5. 27th June 2001, 1930, Victoria Concert Hall. A night that we would always remember... Our Emcee, Mr Ian Poulier. Once again, St. Hilda's Symphonic Band in action! Band Major 00/01, Azli Erwin playing his trumpet Roxanne Goh, Drum Majorette 2001... on the drum set.. Concert Mistress 00/01, Ho Lian Ya.. oboist..
seeing double?... Thats all! Thank You! Good Night and see you next year! A full-length concert in 18 Practices? Sound impossible for a secondary school band? Well we did just that. We had only the June Holidays to work on 8 new songs (and improve on the other 2 played-before songs). Each week of the holidays, we come back for band 3-4 times for a full day practice. I did not find it tiring at all, apart from the stress and pressure to practice hard so as to have a good and wonderful performance. Although what we played for the concert may not be perfect, we know that our hard work had paid off. We enjoyed ourselves during the performance very very very very very much. On behalf of the band, I thank our conductor, Mr Andy Sim for his ability to be patient with us as well as the tutors such as Ms Sharon Son, Mr Tay, Mr Tan Thiam Hee and Mr Sim as well as the teachers in charge who had dedicated their holidays to look after us and not forgetting our seniors who have come back to help..Victor Koh, Dahui, Weifen, Velma, Jun Yang and so on.. As well as all well-wishers out there!!. (i think i better stop here before it goes on and on and on and on) Ridza (DM 01/02, Webmaster)
