Hmm... no comments, I don't think, save for: The quote! It means "If it is an unrequited love, I understand. You love him even though it can't be returned." Again, Fuyu Tokyo! Man, I love that song. E-mail me! "Kanawanu koi da to wakatteru kimi wa kare wo aishiteru na no ni mou modorenai" Sunlight crept in through the windows and forced Machi awake. His eyes fluttered open to find himself facing the white skin of Kamijo's chest. The vocalist was still asleep, arms wrapped tightly around the other man's body. A sinking feeling invaded Machi's chest and he buried his face into the warm skin of his love. What if he woke up and rejected him? Woke up and didn't remember anything? Despite himself, tears welled in the corners of his eyes, sliding silently down his cheeks. He curled into a tight C position, this movement disturbing the blonde man. He woke up and looked down at the crying man, a pang of sadness inside of him. "Nakanaide, boku no koi..." he whispered, pulling Machi's gently shaking body closer to his own. Machi looked up, relieved, crying, "I was so afraid, so afraid that-" "That I was just drunk?" Kamijo finished. He leaned down and softly kissed his love's forehead, stroking a few matted curls away from his lovely eyes. "Iie, I was just drunk enough to finally admit it without my mind being to worried about rejection. We'll be together always, love, I promise it." The drummer let out a soft sigh of happiness, melting back into Kamijo's embrace. Just as he was about to drift back to sleep, the loud ring of the telephone sounded from the bedside table. Turning over, Machi felt a sharp pain in his lower regions as a reminder of the night's activities and caught a glimpse of the clock. 11:00. Practice was supposed to have started and he could've guessed what the phone call was. Hesitantly, he picked it up. "Moshi moshi, Machi desu." Mayu's voice rang through the receiver. "Hey, where are you? You're supposed to be at practice!!" "Umm..." "And where's Kamijo, you went out to drink with him last... night?" The voice trailed off and there was an awkward silence. Machi's face reddened and he thanked Kamisama that Mayu couldn't see. It made no difference, he took the hint. "Ah, I see. We'll just cancel practice for today, okay? Be there tomorrow." He hung up. I guess he decided that he's leader when Kamijo's not there! Machi thought to himself, embarrassed that the guitarist had found out, but thankful that there was no practice. Turning back around to tell his love, he noticed that he was no longer there. Kuso! he thought. What if he..? Machi heard the sound of the shower turning on in the bathroom and he smiled to himself. In a couple seconds, the blonde man's head appeared in the doorway, a seductive look in his eyes. "Come, Machi-chan," he purred, "you don't want to stay all sticky, do you? The shower is ready." Machi smiled shyly as he walked, wearing nothing, across the floor to his waiting lover. He felt Kamijo's eyes scan his body the whole way and heard him utter, "God, you're beautiful..." The red-haired man blushed as Kamijo took him into his arms and planted a light kiss on his lips. Taking his hand, he led him to the running water. After an uneventful shower (Ack!!! I just made a non-hentai shower?? O_O), Machi stood in front of the stove cooking eggs for their breakfast. He made them with love and enjoyed every minute of it, knowing that the vocalist would eat them. When he finished, he set the plates down and sat across the table from Kamijo, smiling widely as the blonde man tried them. "What do you think?" Machi asked, beaming. With a loving grin, Kamijo replied, "They're delicious, love." Setting his chopsticks down, he asked, "So what was the call this morning?" Machi's face turned red all over again. "Well..." he started, "it was Mayu." The color seemed to drop out of the vocalist's already pale face. "M-Mayu?" he stammered. Looking concerned, the drummer replied, "Yeah, why?" "Ano, what did he want?" Kamijo asked nervously. "He just called to yell at me about missing practice then... well..." Machi cast his eyes down. "Yes?" "He kinda figured out that... you... and me... well... yeah." His face was bright red by this point. Kamijo let out a big sigh, resting his head in his hands. "Kuso..." he whispered under his breath. "K-Kamijo-chan, what's wrong?" the red-haired man asked, his heart beginning to beat faster. "Well, when he was giving me advice, um, that wasn't all he was telling me. He confessed feelings for me, and I hated to do it, but I had to tell him that I didn't feel the same way." "God, poor Mayu..." Machi sympathized, not knowing quite what to say. "He took it well, but I could tell that he was hurt inside. I felt terrible." The drummer bit his lip thoughtfully. "This makes matters difficult," he stated bluntly, looking very serious but just coming off as adorable. Kamijo laughed at Machi's obvious comment, returning to his eggs. "You're so cute, Machi-chan!" The drummer just cast his eyes down, blushing, but the blush turned to a full-fledged crimson when the blonde man stated quietly, winking, "But not as cute as your ass!" The chopsticks flew across the table and smacked a laughing Kamijo in the face. "Sukebei!" Machi exclaimed, laughing. Inside he felt happy. He could hear the love in Kamijo's voice, he could hear the endearment. He never wanted it to change. Kamijo placed a gentle hand on the drummer's back as they walked through the door of the studio the next day. Mayu was sitting on that same couch, tuning his guitar. He looked up momentarily, soft hair covering most of his eyes, then looking defeated, went back to the pegs of his guitar. The vocalist felt very uncomfortable but closed the door and announced, "I thought we'd go over 'Fuyu Tokyo' first, okay?" Machi could hear the tremor in his voice and silently sent him confidence. "Okay!" Emiru exclaimed, always seeming so happy. A wide smile adorned his face and Machi could just catch him glance out of the corner of his eye at the melancholy guitarist, the smile fading slightly. The bouncy bassist skipped over to Mayu and squatted down, looking him in the eyes and joking, "We can all see why you represent the spirit of sadness, Mayu!" A terrible silence filled the room. Kamijo felt as though he were being choked, drowned in that thick blanket of silence. Innocently, Emiru blinked, asking, "Did I say something wrong?" Mayu stood, face still veiled in hair as though he was hiding behind it. "No, daijoubu, Emiru. I'm just a bit tired today, that's all." Machi tapped his drums idly, not knowing quite what to do. His lover shot him a helpless look back and the drummer merely nodded, indicating to go on. As Kamijo's voice expressed the words of the song fluidly, no one caught that solitary tear rolling down Mayu's cheek. No one but Emiru. When practice ended, Kamijo wrapped an arm around Machi's slim waste and they walked off together, oblivious to the silent pair of eyes watching them. Once they were gone, Emiru timidly walked over to the solemn guitarist. Twisting his mouth into a thoughtful little dot, he asked, "Nee, Mayu... what's wrong? I- I saw you... well... it looked as though...." "I was crying?" Mayu finished. "Well, yeah." The guitarist scoffed. "Do you know what it feels like to have your love go unnoticed, then have it rejected?" More than you think, Mayu-chan? Emiru thought sadly. He was beginning to understand. Ever since Kamijo and Machi got together, Mayu had been acting strange. "God, Kamijo, why?" Mayu whispered as his shoulders began to shake, tears streaming down his cheeks. Emiru, taking the chance, tried to put his arms around the guitarist to comfort him, but the crying man just curled into a tight little ball out of his reach. Stinging tears wanted to well up in Emiru's eyes as well as his arms dropped back to his sides "I-I'm sorry," the bassist stuttered. Choking back sobs, Mayu replied, "Thanks, I'm fine. I just need to be alone now, please?" Nodding, Emiru took a couple steps backwards, then turn and hurried out of the room before the guitarist could see him sob too. That was the last thing Mayu needed at the moment. Machi lay across his couch, head resting in his lover's lap. The movie they had rented started to play on the TV. (For those of you who want to know, no, it is not a porno movie. It is a sappy romance movie.) "What are you going to do about Mayu?" the drummer asked softly, closing his eyes and just enjoying the feel of Kamijo stroking his hair gently. The blonde man sighed. "What can I do? The only thing that would make him happy is my being with him and that's not going to happen. I'm taken." He smiled and leaned down, giving his love a sweet kiss. "It's unfortunate, though." "That was so awkward today at practice. Emiru just didn't get it." Machi replied. "Yeah, that really didn't help any." Kamijo zoned out soon, very into the movie. The drummer found it cute how oblivious he was to everything when the TV was on. Machi wasn't a big TV fan but if he were with Kamijo during it, he'd agree to anything. His eyes suddenly felt very heavy and he sighed contentedly, falling asleep. When the movie ended and Kamijo had wiped the remaining tears from his cheeks (if you didn't catch it, the movie was so sappy it made him cry... he's not crying like Mayu -_-;;), he broke out of his trance and glanced down at the sleeping man on his lap. The blonde man felt happy looking down at the gorgeous man, his face so peaceful in his sleep. He slid out from under him and lifted the body gently into his arms. No matter how gentle Kamijo could have been, Machi still would have woken up and he did, blinking blearily. "Mm, is the movie over?" Machi mumbled, half-asleep. "Shh, love, yes, it is." Kamijo replied softly, kissing the man's forehead as he carried him to the vocalist's bedroom. Laying him lightly on the bed, he changed into his pajamas and got a pair for Machi too. However, with the drummer as tired as he was, the best he could do was to manage to get the shirt on and he left Machi in his normal pants. When the blonde man slid under the blankets, he felt the drummer's warm body immediately snuggle up next to him. He took the man into his arms and resting his chin on the top of Machi's head, he was lulled to sleep by the rhythmic sound of his lover's breathing. To Part 4 |
