Today, My child, the time has come
for Me to leave this place
I came to earth to bring good news
and give to you God's grace ~
From the time I was a boy
and I grew to be a man
I always knew this day would come,
I hope you understand.

There is no need to cry, My child,
for though I go away
I will always live within your heart
as I stand with you today ~
I'll always be there to listen
to the burdens that you bear,
All you have to do is call
and I will hear your prayer.

My time on earth was to be brief
so man would truly see
The price I paid for the sins
that he may live eternally ~
But peace I leave with you, My child,
this precious gift of life,
Today I return to My Father
but you'll see Me in paradise.

Take My hand into thine own
and know within your heart
My everlasting love for you
is written in these scars ~
For when I hung upon the Cross
it was because I care
For the pain you carry hurts me more
than the nails that held me there.

You asked me once how much do I
love you, and I cried,
My child, I love you this much
and I stretched out my arms and died ~
But now I stand before you here
just as I have before
And I will never be far away
I'll be with you forevermore.

My child, heed my blessings
remember what I say
I will be with you forever
until the end of the age ~
For today I have risen
though I died I am not dead
For on the third day I rose again
just as the prophets said.

But today my time on earth is done
and now I have to go
And I'll see you in your heart of hearts
till the day I call you home ~
My child, I'll live forever
walking by your side,
For you I paid the price of love
when I stretched out My arms and died.

"This poem is an addition to my Easter pages, depicting the love Christ has for us, in the sacrifice He made that day on Calvary.   Many think "Yeah, yeah, another Easter poem, we know all that", but do you?   I mean REALLY know it?   Do you really know the price Jesus paid for you and for me?   Not in the theoretical sense, but within your heart.   It is so easy to say "Oh sure, I know He died for us. It's what I was taught as a child many times. I know all that"; but it's a lot harder to really know it within ourselves.   Some take years learning and discovering the depth of that love.   And some never know.   How it must pain Jesus and His Father each time they see someone they love (which is all of us) reject the Truth, and go their own way.   Though God gave us minds of our own to do as we wish, it still doesn't stop Him from hurting each time He sees one of us reject Him.   The depth of this poem is about His love.   It is set on the Third Day when Jesus rose from the dead.   In the painting He is talking to a woman, and I have used that image to depict Him talking to you or to me.   We are all His children.   He loves all of us, and He paid that price for ALL of us.   What this poem is saying is that although we may not see Him in the flesh, He will always be there with us....to carry us when things get too much, to listen when we need to talk, to love us and to protect us.   It is about faith and hope and love.   Faith that He's there, hope in His peace and His love for us and our love for Him.   Love comes from Him, but we must also love Him.   I'm sure most of us will know what it is like to love someone who may not love us back, and how much that hurts us.   Times that by one thousand, one million times, and that is how much it hurts Jesus and His Father that we don't love Him as He loves us.   But still, He would do anything for us.   He did when Jesus died on the Cross for our sins.   And that is love."
