Can't think of a better title.
The first day of a new schedule which was affected by daylight savings time happened pretty smoothly. The only problem would be that it made the day seem longer than usual. It is advisable from now on to delay lunch until 12 noon, but that would mean having lunch at the same time normal working people do, translating to crowded canteens and elevators that visit every floor.
The Matrix Reloaded is opening next week, and a friend has mentioned tickets being sold out for the 5th and 6th at Greenbelt. I would not want to watch a movie like The Matrix in a crowded cinema like that, as I hate crowds, especially if am alone. Am just gonna trust my loyalty to my ever favorite cinema house on this one, Robinson's Metro East.
It's been awhile since I last watch a movie, the last one being The Magdalene Sisters 17 days ago. I need to watch a movie again. Identity is showing tomorrow, and might as well watch that.
Gigs on the other hand, are something I am really missing. Been out of the scene for more than a month, 32 days to be exact. Admit One is having their anniversary party this month in a two-part event. The first on the 8th at Freedom Bar Anonas and the second on the 22 at Rock Radio Cafe in Alabang. If fate would allow me two, I'd attend both. There are no conflicts with schedules so I don't see any problems.
OH! Someone finally noticed those little links at the end of each page. Thanks. I hope YOU do too.

Of Wakes, Funerals and Videogames
Am tired. My body's drained, and all I want right now is a good massage and sleep right after.
Sadly, it ain't over. Day off tomorrow, but there are still things needed to be done. On Tuesday, work starts anew and would continue until the first week of November.
Survived my first experience of wakes and funerals.
I mentioned how I really hate wakes, but being in one made me changed opinions about the whole thing. It ain't as bad as I first thought it was. Of course, it was not something fun, but it was a different experience for me, a person who is not fond of "social" occasions. I had no idea I had that much cousins and relatives, and I can only remember a few of them, those of whom I have not met before.
Want some cornick (fried corn bits)? Had a sack of them for the funeral and we could hardly finish all of them.
Over at work, it seems like am getting too many praises, and I am hoping that I don't get jinxed by them. The coming work week marks the start of performance grading for promotion upon regularization. Let's try not to think of it too seriously, but instead strive to do our best regardless of performance appraisal.
In bad news concerning work. Since day-light saving time is over, our schedules have been moved up an hour. Starting Tuesday, my new schedule is from 7 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon, a bad schedule due to traffic. It helps though. Before, I had to wake up by 3:00 am and leave home by 4 am. Now, I have to wake up by 3:30 and leave by 4:30. Nice. A 30 minute adjustment for an hours worth of shift in the schedule. Wickedness.
10 days to go before The Matrix Revolution. In lieu of this, I have started brushing up on all things Matrix related. Watched The Animatrix, and am planning to see it again after watching the first two movies again. Speaking of the second movie, I have yet to buy my copy, DVD or VCD, which I must purchase by the end of the week. On the other hand, the game, Enter the Matrix, hardly interests me. Good thing my brother played it, and all I have to do is hack through it and watch the in-game sequences. Nice.
I mentioned a videogame, so let's talk about that now. Purchased copies of NBA Live 2004, Jax II, and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne.
Before that though, let me tell a story first. Any rejections? None? I though so.
Visited Tower Megamall last week, and noticed a poster mentioning Tower Shangri La. The poster brought much joy to myself. Finally, a DECENT record bar in Shangri La, a mall closer to the terminal going home. Yesterday, I decided to check it out. As far as I could remember, the poster mentioned 1st level, so I checked the first level out for any signs of Tower Records. Another failed pursuit, I could not find the damned place. Decided to check some videogames at the sixth level and on the way saw another poster, 1st level beside Mercury Drug and City Walk. Kept that in mind and proceeded to the sixth level, purchased some videogames, and continued my search for Tower Records.
Mercury Drug was not hard to find. Tower Records was in a different league by itself. You could not see any sign of Tower Records being BESIDE Mercury Drug, and walking inside Mercury Drug leads you to another mall exit. Took the mall exit and looked beside Mercury Drug and much to my delight, there was the steel globe, a sure shot reminder of a Tower Record branch.
Quickly browsed through some CDs and found a copy of The Underworld OST. After purchasing games, I was left with no money and my desire for the album was satisfied by previewing the CD. Sadly, this made me want the copy more, a desire that will have to wait and be satisfied soon.
Tower Shangri La is definitely hard to find. There are no mall entrances. One has to go outside Mercury Drug then turn right to find the record bar. Another way would be through Crossing Department store, but that entrance is very small, and you would not see it unless you know about it. It's just a door connecting the two stores. The record bar itself was neatly designed and occupied a smaller floor area compared to Tower Megamall and Tower Makati, but nonetheless, contained the same features/sections, Customer Service, Top Albums, and of course, the ambience and feel of a Tower Record branch, whatever that is.
If I only saw the place sooner, I'd have a copy of the Underworld OST instead of a bunch of videogames. This does not mean I did not have fun with the games.
NBA Live 2004 is more of a basketball simulation than the games which came before it. Am saying this, because the AI was quite hard which is not really the case. NBA Live 2004 has gone through a lot of changes, new buttons, new moves, smoother animation, and more. After playing the game for a few rounds, you'd get the feel of the new options and moves and would be playing it like any previous NBA Live game, fast and head on.
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is the sequel to Max Payne. Duh! Of course it is. It continues the story of Max Payne and the Mafia involved in the dead of his wife. The story is dark and twisted, told in a comic book monologue style, which appeals to me a lot. Have played a few chapters only since my PC does not have enough power to play the bloody game. The moment more opponents are on screen, the game gets choppy which is real crappy for a action game. Plays almost the same as the first, the feel of bullet-time has changed given that every time I use it, hardly anything happens except for new fancy moves. In the old game, bullet-time makes you move in slow motion. Will play the game again when I have more time, if patience allows me to stomach the slowdowns, or if need be, when I purchase a new video card.
Jax II is a platform game, and I don't play these types of games. Leaving these kind of games for my brother. Yes, I bought something thinking about what my brother would like.
This is pathetic, I wrote a lot of things again, with the knowledge of holding back other thoughts. I need someone to talk too. Any volunteers?

Busy, busy week. Hardly enough time to do all the things I want to do, and the week is not over yet. Boy, oh boy.
I mentioned about watching Matchstick Men at the Podium, but opted to push that down the listen and experience something new, Fortune Telling.
Since Halloween is just around the corner, the company has all sorts of gimmicks for their employees. Yesterday, there was fortune telling. Was hesitant at first, but later on decided to go ahead and see what happens. Check out how amusing it would be.
To make things short without beating around the bush, the fortune teller told me everything that I knew already. Things like confidence issues, money coming my way, patience, persistence and determination. Overall, I wasn't really impressed by the whole thing except for a few things.
The moment I sat down and he started reading my palm, he said "You're quite horny, but that's ok." Me? Horny? Yeah, right! Later on during the session, he made another similar remark in the words "be careful when playing with fire, you can get burned."
He then told me I'd have health problems, and I should reduce drinking alcohol. Another "Yeah, right!" worthy remark. I don't drink that much, probably once a week or so, but it would only be a couple of beers. The last time I drunk so much, passed out and woke up in some surreal place was last February.
The fortune teller was right on one thing though, me being such a spendthrift, and I should keep an eye on this.
Overall, unimpressive, but it was fun.

That was one long weekend.
Sure, it was only a couple of days but a lot has happened since. Should get prepared for an even longer week.
Work is getting better, though the traveling is starting to affect my physical being. Headaches occur now and then, a probable indication that I need to wear eyeglasses from now on. I still refuse to admit that I need to. Good thing my body is starting to adapt, and in saying this I mean my respiratory system which before really needed some tune up because it was way off. Just can't get used to the sudden switching from hot to cold temperatures. Couldn't it be just cold all of the time?
Missed out on a lot of movies. Matchstick Men and The Suspect have already been released. After seeing Nicolas Cage in Adaptation, am particularly interested in Matchstick Men. I could catch it tomorrow at The Podium. Let's see if their theaters are of any good.
I don't know if I just haven't been seeing enough movies lately, or there is really little word out about Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino's new film. Uma Thurman stars in this Kung-Fu/Samurai love flick. Have yet to see Pulp Fiction, which is now a cult film, but from the movie posters I have downloaded, it seems like a cool film with a lot of substance or style, any of which would do for me. One more thing, the movie promises to have pint loads of blood in it. Cool. Here's hoping to see any signs of the flick the next time I visit a mall and watch a movie. In the meantime, here are a few movie posters. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Check them out.
What else?
Another work week starts tomorrow, and here's wishing it would be a continuous improvement over the others and hopefully, I won't drain my body too much.
Can't think of anything else to talk about. Was supposed to write a new monologue but I haven't had the time to do so yet. I really need to write one soon as I am starting to talk to myself more and more, vocally.

Didn't expect one of the smaller record bars in a lousy mall that is unknown to most people to have a copy of A Perfect Circle's new album, Thirteenth Hour.
So I was pretty much surprised when I saw it on one of the shelves in the store, add to that, it was in front. I quickly held the copy in my hands and checked if it was real. After that, I found my self looking over their whole foreign selection for CDs I have been looking for since the beginning of time. Found a copy of So Long Astoria, but thought to myself that I must spend money wisely. I then settled with the new album from the band who came out with probably the best album of 2001, Mer De Noms.
Played it once on the audio component but was not able to listen to all the tracks intensively. The band has gone through a lot of changes, old members left, new members came in. So far it is a very solid album, am just listening to it for the second time right now. All I can about it is they sound more akin to Tool than the old A Perfect Circle. Especially the first track which is more than 7 minutes, Mer De Noms tracks do not last more than 5 minutes. Seems like I have to listen to them more before I get the hang of it and notice the differences.
Moving on, am still thinking on when I am going to visit Tower Makati and check the CDs there, with a schedule like this, it's real hard to make immediate plans. My body feels like it's going to collapse any second now need sleep but sometimes my mind does not want to. Drained and all, my body system still can't cooperate with each other.
Bloody stupid body.
The mind is even worse. So to make things simpler, let's just not go there, okay?
This 6210 of mine gets more and more useless by the day, with the only purpose of being a timepiece for me. If I had a watch, the phone would be useless to me. Have no one to message or call. No messages nor calls are received either, and that does not include messages from imaginary relationships I have with people, imaginary or not. (that lasted for more than 6 months before she fooled around noticeably, since from the beginning, I bet she was fooling around.)
Another reason why a new MMS phone is not on the top of my priorities right now. On top of the list are a portable MP3 player and a digital camera. Heck, I could even put a watch up next and forget about the whole phone.
Pathetic.
Am just a lonely guy begging for some much needed attention from people. It's amazing how I keep on doing this journal website knowing that no one out there visits and in the rare occasion, cares to read anything.
Just pathetic.
Am sounding like that guy of long ago, depressed and never satisfied with anything he already has. Stupid and pathetic.
I thought I, together with stingeyes stabbed the bloody soul to death with chopsticks before. Seemed it was not enough, now he's back, more depressed than he ever used to be. And with a job on his hands and travel time of more or less two hours, he is even scarier now than ever before.
It's time to write a new monologue. Need to sit down, have a cup of tea, and a long good conversation with my selves.

What a day. A sudden change of workstation plotting at work. A long ride home arriving before absolute darkness fills the skies. Aside, from that, same old stuff, nothing special happened at work.
Nothing ever happens at work.
Same old stuff day-in and day-out, and it's becoming more of a routine akin to how my days were before having a job. Wake up after noon, Playstation, eat, PC, Playstation, eat, movie, PC, internet and chat until my eyes give up.
Nevertheless, it's still fun and challenging. Something to keep me amused while am building some confidence from scratch.
Have finally watched the whole Godfather series, and I regret only seeing the picture now. Yeah, my dad had copies of them on Betamax, but I was too young to care about those kinds of films. By the time I was old enough, mold has grown on the tapes.
Am finally old enough to appreciate these kinds of movies, and most especially, get the chance to actually see them. The Godfather trilogy is one awesome story by Mario Puzo and revolves around Michael Corleone played by Al Pacino. It's amazing seeing Al Pacino in his earlier years as well as Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Andy Garcia, and Robert Duvall. The story was told in such a way, revolving around a family and the business itself of organized crime. Masterfully directed and made me understand why it is the best mafia movies ever.
As good as it is, Fight Club still rules in my heart, since it is much closer to my personality than any other movie out there.
With that task done, I now move on to finish the pile of FHM on the desk. I wish I could just flick them away and start reading the book. But NO! I must clear up my desk first before I can sit down and enjoy that book.
When this would happen, you say? If am really lazy and really waiting for the perfect time to start reading, it would never happen. Well, not this year. Am in the mood, I'd start by November at best.
The thing is, who the hell cares about this. I doubt anyone even bothers to read this junk.
| |
So I picked the book over the DVD. The problem is I have no idea when I'd start reading it. Upon looking at my bed side table, a pile of unread junk was waiting, and I have just added another one. Four months of FHM on backlog, a Game Masters issue, and a book by Bob Ong. Decided it would be wise to finish them all up hence clearing up the table before even starting with the book. The table really needs to be cleaned out anyway, as I have been dumping stuff on it since I started working.
Quickly browsed through the second issue of the localized Game Masters videogaming magazine, reading only articles of particular interest. Skipped anything related to WWII first person shooters and racing games, just went straight to the juicy stuff.
Videogaming is just starting to develop in the country, and what I mean by that is local videogaming as videogames have been available since they first existed.
This year witnessed the launch of the country's first MMORPG, Ragnarok Online. The country has participated in the World Computer Gaming event for several years now. The Philippines' first videogame is about to be released in November. Now we have the first videogaming magazine in the country which is a definite breeder from US magazines.
Slowly, videogaming is creeping into the country as an opportunity for business. Hopefully, with this happening we could expect localization of console games which would translate into cheaper original games and would therefore encourage support for videogaming minus piracy. This is already being done for PC games, wherein prices have been slashed from 1500+ to around 500 pesos. Definitely more affordable at the same time, supporting the publisher and copyright issues.
As for the magazine itself, all I can say is that it's adequate. As the first local videogaming magazine, it will do. Much has to be said about it's layout, general design and articles. Despite this, it is still an enjoyable read. This reactions may only be caused with my fan-boy attitude comparing it to EGM.
Next on the list of things to read first are the four issues of episode from July to October. I don't know why, but I just lost the habit of reading and finishing them by the end of the first week of the month. I am still able to buy copies during the said week, but forget to read any of them and since then, they have pilled up. I'll browse through all of them over the week.
Then there is Bob Ong's third book, "Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas" (Judas' Favorite Book), but don't let the title and appearance of the book shock you. Underneath, you'd find one genuine entertaining read. Based from previous experience with his books, this one would be fun and would be a quick read.
After all that is done, I could finally move on to The Da Vinci Code and the temptation to just pick it up and start reading is too much.
It's October and much has to be done before November comes, ie, before The Matrix Revolutions comes up.
And let's not forget The Godfather trilogy that is starting to collect an additional layer of dust.

Was in quite a dilemma today which almost made me crazy/crazier.
Noticed that I'd have money again soon, so I decided to go shopping, or to be more specific shop for a audio CD or a DVD. The best option I had was Megamall, a mall I have repeatedly mentioned as a mall I hate so much, but it had the choice of better stores compared to malls in the area. Dropped by the usual areas, music bars, cyberzone, silver screen, and video shops. Music bars and video shops are usually combined in a store and is a one-deal thing.
Before doing all of this, the first thing I do when visiting a mall is check the movie listing and play times. It's a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for me.
Nothing special on release this week, mostly movies I've seen on video already and have no intentions of watching in theaters. There was one movie that immediately caught my fancy, The Magdalene Sisters, was showing this week. This movie was shown during Cine Europa a month ago, and was probably the only movie on the list that I really wanted to see. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to view it during the two week feast schedule. It was free back then, and that made it even worse.
Anyway, the screening time was at 7:25 and it was only 5 in the afternoon, so I had a lot of time to do my other rounds.
The Matrix Reloaded was just released on DVD and video last October 10, and there were tons of copies available. In Tower Records alone, there were probably more than 100 DVD copies on the rack. With this in mind and the money in my pocket, the DVD seemed like a shiny little thing that you must pick up. I had my priorities, and with limited resources, an audio CD purchase would be more viable. Checked out first if there were copies of Thursday's War Of The Ages, any Finch album or even an OST for Underworld. Unfortunately, there were none at all.
The shiny DVD moved up the list to top stop.
But all that changed as I saw a copy of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, a book I've been looking for since July. Note looking for, I never ask sales people if they have this or that. I don't want to look stupid in front of them because they don't know what I am asking for. This is one of the skills needed for sales people, making people look stupid if they ask something they don't know at all.
With the recent announcement that a movie was in the works, it made me want the book even more, and I decided that I was going to ask around, swallowing up my pride as I forgot who the author was at that point. (stingeyes: Is there any left?? You lost all of it a year ago. Come to think of it, you didn't have any to begin with.)
Lo and behold, in the new section of Power Books there were copies of The Da Vinci Code and I was shocked because I did not expect the book to be so big. It is not exactly too big per se, I was expecting a pocket sized version.
At this point, I was in a confusing predicament. I had two options, purchase the DVD or the book as I only had enough resources for one. The unpicked one would eventually be purchased a few days from now, but the thing is, I want both now.
With a help of a good friend (Thanks again!), I decided on purchasing the book.
Walking back and forth ate up most of my time, and my initial idea to play House of the Dead 3 was scrapped due to this.
Philips was released some of their new gadgets together with MTV. KC Montero was there, but who cares about him as I saw Cindy Kurleto while walking, but only noticed it after she passed by.
Philips has some cool new gadgets, one of which am quite interested in, their pocket MP3 player with 128MB of memory. The design is just compact and handy. Other products were a 15GB MP3 Jukebox, another MMS/Music phone, and a pocket camera with the same design as the pocket MP3 player. Didn't see much of the MMS phone, but had a good look at the MP3 Jukebox and all I can say is that the design is VERY UGLY. The buttons in front make it look like a cheap brand made in China. It doesn't even come close to the IPaq even though the former may be bigger. Even the MP3 Jukebox am checking out at work looks better than this piece of junk. For me, it looks like junk. The portable MP3 player looks so much better.
After snooping around, hunger stroke and was satisfied. Time for the movie.
The Magdalene Sisters was set in Ireland and that made understanding the accent a bit tedious. Nonetheless, it was an excellent film. The pacing was just right, the characters developed along the story and you could see how they changed because of the experience. A touching movie that shows the hypocrisies of the Catholic church, and is shown in such a way that is almost funny. I consider myself fortunate that I decided to drop by Megamall this day. After Cine Europa, I started to wonder how the hell I could get the chance to see the film. Good thing they released it here. If you drop by Megamall anytime this week, try and see the movie, it may be on limited release only.
I speak so little but I type/write so much.

It's an amazing feeling, getting credit for something you had no intention of doing, something that just happened. These things don't happen often in my life, so mind me if I'd get too cocky.
Work is turning out to be fun and interesting by the minute, especially if things like what I just mentioned above happen.
Gosh!
Am lost in thought, and have no idea where this is heading to. Good thing for me as there is an easy way to sort this problem, all I have to do is talk about either movies, videogames or music.
So, let's begin with videogames.
Final Fantasy XI has already been released in the USA and is available on PC and PS2. This is a good thing. The downside. People in the country will never get the chance to play it as it is an MMORPG and connects people around the world into one network, one global network. This is the first MMORPG for SquareEnix and is a surprising turn for the Final Fantasy franchise. Hopes are high that this would not end up in the trash bin like their previous attempt to make a movie.
An amusing fact about the game is how it integrates the two systems into one network alone. Meaning, players using PCs will be playing with PS2 gamers in one network. Start looking for the square button on your keyboard.
Unfortunately, we are left out on this experience again. There are several reason why it would not be available in the country.
First, it requires broadband connection, and only the people extremely rich have access to it. Besides, broadband connections in the country are as good as the paltry broadband connections of other nations. Just imagine using a dial-up connection to play a game of this caliber against people around the world who would just laugh at your uber slow connection.
Second, piracy. SquareEnix won't go into the trouble of setting up subscriptions for Filipino gamers, as it is a very small market in the country and only a few purchase original games. How unlucky we all are. Only those people who have dollar accounts can subscribe to the service.
Ragnarok Online is the first MMORPG in the country and was introduced here by Level-Up Games. I sincerely doubt if they could do the same for Final Fantasy XI, Starwars Galaxies, The Matrix Online, and Middle Earth Online. Us Filipinos are missing out on really big things. How sad.
Mentioned SquareEnix' previous venture into movies, and came across a link about the guys at Square Movies giving it another shot.
After the success of Final Flight of the Osiris, they summed up the confidence to make another full-length movie. It's still going to be Final Fantasy, but they are continuing the story from a Final Fantasy game, and what better Final Fantasy to pick than Final Fantasy VII of course. We'd be seeing the coolest bad guy ever, Sephiroth again, as well as Cloud Strife and his kick ass sword, despite the ugly new haircut he sports around making him look like an Asian boy band member.
It is entitled Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and would continue the story where the game ended, and hopefully explain why Sephiroth is still alive. The movie has no plans yet of being released in theaters as it is direct-to-video or OAV in Japanese animation. Queen of the Damned was initially planned as a direct to video release but since it was Aaliyah's last movie, they released it in theaters. Hoping something similar would happen with FFVII: Advent Children, not that any of the characters will die.
This indicates that dreams DO come true. Whether or not it would be released on video or in theaters is not a problem, I must get my hands on a copy whenever it would be released.
Here's a picture of the poster for the movie, and please, try not to drool, okay. Mighty words as I am having trouble myself.
Final Fantasy XI is not the only FF game released lately. A reunion of two old pals has happened and everyone is happy about it. From the moment SquareEnix announced they would be developing for the GameCube again, everyone was excited. The game turned out to be, of course, a Final Fantasy game entitled Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles which utilizes the link capability of the GameBoy Advance and is actually a multiplayer game. Finding four people with GBAs and link adapters is a task in itself, but people would do anything for Final Fantasy. Well, I would.
Final Fantasy Tactics: Advanced was also released recently for the GBA, and is one of the best strategy games on the PSOne.
Upcoming releases under the Final Fantasy series are Final Fantasy X-2: Another Story and Final Fantasy XII.
FF X-2 is the first ever sequel to a FF game and again brings the FF series to a whole new level. It will not implement the traditional Active Battle System of FF games and would be more action-adventure oriented than a regular RPG. More like Tomb Raider. The Japanese version was released months ago, and my hands have been itching since then. The American release would come in November, just one more month to go. Hoorah!
Final Fantasy XII is, do I really have to explain this? Well, it is the next installment of the FF series and would not be an MMORPG though it would still implement some network capabilities. Don't have much info about this game yet, must do some more research but the game will be available next year, in Japan.
God! An overdose of all things Final Fantasy, and I still haven't had enough yet. Still wanna talk about exciting new movies and videogames. This is quite long now, so I'll spare you this time.
Spare who you say?!

Head is pulsating. Aching so much. Well, it is still tolerable as am in front of my PC again. I think it's almost time for me to wear eyeglasses all of the time.
I have so much to say, and talk about but hardly the space for it. Another reason would be me thinking that nobody even cares in the first place so why even bother. Actually, I don't have to think it out as it is a fact, a vivid reality, smacking me right in the face.
As a result, am not going to visit the site until the end of the month which would also be the time I'd check on the site statistics. Am still going to check the message boards and check if there is anything new at all.
Saw three movies last week, one at the theater and two on video. Was able to watch Hollywood Homicide last Tuesday, together with a friend, which probably marked the first time in ages that I watched a movie with another living breathing person and not some imaginary friend I created. Got hold of copies of The Order (Sin Eater in the Philippines) and Once Upon A Time in Mexico, and watched them last Sunday.
Hollywood Homicide is an enjoyable movie, though at some points it tends to get dull and oh-so senseless. The movie is funny at times, but it's quite uneasy seeing Harrison Ford doing a comedy-action flick.
The Order, or Sin Eater as it is publicized here, is a sub par movie about a being that devours sins in order to save the person from judgment or purgatory. Probably the dullest movie I've seen that deals with the church. Stigmata is still one of the best for me, and that's saying a lot as I don't really like this genre.
Once Upon A Time In Mexico. Now this is another movie I regret seeing on video first, mainly because Johnny Depp is in it, but in reality, it is a good and well-done movie. I don't know how this movie is related to Desperados, but I think it is, in one way or the other. The story was interesting, with a few surprises here and there, as well as the pacing. The action sequences were well-executed with a dash of humor added in between. My only gripe is Enrique Iglesias as he was in the film and played a sizable role, good thing his acting was bearable. Another was Salma Hayek's appearance in the movie which was very minimal and reduced only to flashbacks. Much has to be done with the title though, as it sounds like a long running franchise in China.
Savvy?
How I wish I had more time to do all the things that I want. And mind you, that is quite a handful.

This is no fun at all. It is so bloody hot. How I wish we had air-conditioning at home, but I doubt that would help as the house is poorly insulated.
I bet everything I have, that when I wake up tomorrow, I'd develop a cold because the electric fan is on me all the time.
Why does it have to be so hot??
Less than a month to go till the worldwide release of The Matrix Revolutions. Unlike movies of the past, this movie has an added gimmick to it, it would be released worldwide at the exact same time. Well, not really exact, but supposedly at the same time through out the world. Cool. Unfortunate are those who have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning or those who'd time would fall during rush hour.
I could say that am not the only one excited about this movie. The Matrix Reloaded was cut short and people are eagerly anticipating the final chapter. With less than a month left, I have to plan my free days in preparation for the movie. The Matrix Reloaded DVD would be released on the 10th and I must have my hands on a copy of one, wishful thinking since I haven't pre-ordered. (Yes, you can pre-order certain movies in the Philippines now.) Might as well grab a copy of the first movie on DVD while am at it. I have a copy of The Animatrix, which unfortunately, I have only viewed once. I have to watch these DVDs and VCDs the weekend before the release.
Then there is the game, Enter the Matrix, and I have yet to play it and I have to finish it before the end of the month as it holds certain clips of events that happened in between Reloaded and Revolutions. One weekend would do fine for this goal.
Add to that, I have already downloaded all the teasers and trailers, namely the teaser at the end of Reloaded and the international trailer itself. And yes, I have already viewed it a number of times.
It is not hard to tell that I am absolutely excited about this movie. Click here, here, here and here for the new movie posters.
Nah, not even one indication that I am. Not one bit.

For the first time in my paltry little life, I sang videoke. Rare has been the opportunity for me to do this but when am usually faced with the chance, I hurriedly, say panicky, refuse to sing. Deep down inside, everyone loves to sing, and am not an exception, the thing is, I love to sing in private, by myself, when no one else is around or atleast, when everyone is singing.
As another work week closed, that alone called for a little chilling out and relaxation. Went out with work friends, ate at Sbarro and sang videoke at Encore in Megamall. It was a pretty fun experience being the first time I ever went out for videoke. Was hesitant to sing at first, but when everyone else was, you'd get this feeling of being left out. So I sang, and all I can say is, am better off singing by myself, alone. Plus the songs there were not exactly my cup of tea, as I'd prefer to sing emo-punk songs whose beat is not exactly perfect and where the singing is really out of tune, indicating the rawness that punk is.
Anyway, it was still a fun experience.
After that, I still wanted to go out. It was the first Saturday of the month, meaning Admit One at Freedom Bar in Anonas, but as I messaged everyone that I could go with and finding out they weren't going there, that left me disappointed and changed my mind about going to the gig. Decided on going home and having a good long sleep, one that my body really needs.
Bought a few VCDs on the way home, Once upon a time in Mexico and The Order. Have no other plans for the weekend other than watching these movies and probably the whole Godfather series.
I really regret missing the Oktoberfest kick off party. The time when I was going to work in the morning of Saturday was the time the party ended and everyone was going home. I found saying to myself, "If I did not have to go it work today, I'd be one of them, just about to go home." Oh well, we have to be responsible now.
**Note**
One month to go until The Matrix Revolutions!!!

Am blogging right now, which means am not at the kick off party for this year's Oktoberfest. By 5 pm, I was free to do anything I wish. Messaged some friends and asked what time they'd come to the party and most replied past 9 in the evening. At Filipino time to the equation and you've got atleast 10 in the evening, which would be the right time for me to go home and get atleast 3 hours sleep before going to work the next day.
Boredom and weariness got the better of me, and I decided to just scoot home. Besides, as much as I love being alone, am not going to wait until 9 in the evening until I could actually be with someone I know, and immediately proceed home when the others arrive. What's the point in that?
Sure, I could have met a lot of people there, but mind you, we are talking about ME here, a guy who's confidence is WAY below zero and whose eyesight is so bad that I would not even see a pie flying right towards my face.
If there was no work tomorrow, I could have stayed, maybe watch a movie first before going back to the party. Too bad this isn't the case. Man, I just want to drink my guts out. Good thing there still is Saturday and we'll try to make the most of it.
First Saturday of the month, meaning Admit One again. Cool, especially since it is free although I would still have to write a review about the whole gig.
Anyway, am stuck here at home, wondering how fun it could be. Right! And if am there, I'd be wishing I'd be at home in front of the PC.
**Yawn**
Might as well make the most of the time I have now, in preparation for tomorrow. Might as well lay down and sleep.

Interesting. The last time I started a journal on the second day of the month was back in April, the month the website was "officially" released. During the months prior to October, I have always started the my journal entries on the 1st day. Could this be a sign of things to come? An apparent end I guess.
Days fly by so fast, and they pull the months along with them, and before you know it, it's October again, the 10th month of the year, the last quarter of the year, three months before Christmas, and most importantly, OctoBEERfest.
A German beer tradition that has found it's way into the Filipino culture, and why would that not happen when the "best Asian beer" comes from the country. The Philippine version of Oktoberfest kicks off tomorrow at Eastwood City, Libis which is just outside our office. Loads of beer at a really low price and is definitely a great time to drink your hearts out.
Yeah, right!
I wish I could do that. The thing is, I STILL HAVE WORK THE NEXT DAY. How sad. =(
Nonetheless, am still going to have some fun, and I have a few options/alternatives in hand, but first, let's clear out a few things. Am definitely going to work on Saturday. With that out of the picture am thinking of where I could sleep over tomorrow night, the problem is waking up as I would not be able to wake up by myself. If I wanted to go home, I'd have to set it 2 hours earlier so that I'd be home before or by 12 midnight which would give me enough time to sleep. Anyway, I'll just bring a shirt and a pair of undies so I can sleep anywhere as long as I don't go to work drunk.
I guess that's better, some of my wave mates have work during the said celebration, and that's really sad.
This is amusing. If I type in "Oktoberfest" the spelling corrector does not show up, but when I use "Octoberfest" it indicates the wrong spelling.
