Anita graduated from NIDA in 1994 and although she never intended to become an actress, she has seldom been out of work. "In my case, it came about through lack of self-esteem, because of
the shyness. Acting was never really something I considered, I'd decided
to become a teacher."
Family is very important to Anita and, after being talked into trying out for NIDA and then getting in; her family was initially unsure about the insecurity of her choice, her mother thought it might be better for her to finish her teaching degree. Anita says "I look at the way the world is changing now and what is secure? Everyone's becoming part-time, people have about five different jobs in their career. I think maybe you should just go for what you want."

If she hadn't become an actress.."I started a teaching course at Sydney Uni. but quickly got bored. I might have been a psychologist or counselor."

She loves her wardrobe and hates her size 10 and a half feet!
The worst thing a reviewer has said about her is..."That I grated on him like a dentist's drill. I was playing Eliza Doolittle for a Sydney Theatre Company production at the time, so I took it as a compliment."
